And then you have the Democrats and their war against American blue collar workers and the middleclass.

2. Republicans who won in the past had more minority support. George W. Bush had roughly 40% of the Hispanic vote. That number fell to 20% for Romney in the last election. That number will drop further with Trump. Knowing that, how can a Republican win?

3. Poll numbers have shown Hillary in the lead. She was leading by double digits one month ago. Now, she is still leading by 7 points, that's still a large lead.
Democrats are putting out more accessible candidates. Even though Hillary is constantly surrounded by scandal, even though according to Trump the media won't attack her, to most moderates, she's the more sensible option. Trump has no experience, a big ego, and a laughable temperament. Policy wise, he's acceptable at best. Though hammering down on points about the wall turned many off, though he no longer needs to pander to that crowd, as evident by his recent actions. He's becoming more moderate, though he can't go full moderate. While the Trumpettes do an amazing job of not being too critical of Donny, if he starts looking too much like a politician, they might just start thinking critically about their so called savior.

I don't think the drop in minority vote is really an issue of Republican policy. Not entirely. Trump is highly divisive and the Democrats have an excellent marketing campaign for minorities. But speaking objectively, neither side has policy that is specifically more beneficial for minorities in any objective way. Once the Republican party cleans up the mess it's in, the narrative will change and I'd expect the minority vote to divide up a bit more.

The only thing I would disagree with is the Republican and conservatives have not really gone further to the right. The liberals have socially gone to the far left. The left has also become more globalist and progressive.

His over the top persona generates interest and a media more concerned with making investors happy knows that what's exciting will get views and bump up ratings. Trump knew that this is how he could win. Kasich didn't. Or if he did, he wasn't willing to compromise his values to do so. Some had less of a problem. Rubio didn't mind playing the game a bit in his various back and forth fights with Trump on the debate stage about "hand size" (we all know what part of the body he meant).
If you examine most Evangelicals and Tea Party members, the overwhelming majority are blue collar individuals without a formal college education. Many of their jobs have been outsourced and they are angry. When appealing to angry people, what approach works better: raw emotion or fact driven commentary?

If Republicans don't have a chance then why is Donald Trump (the most disliked candidate the GOP has ever run for POTUS) statistically tied with Hillary in the national polls and he's leading in a few key battleground states?

I know you're just trolling but seriously, if what you're saying is true why is Donald Trump not in the single digits nationally?

When I see comments like the bolded from the original poster, I know this thread is crap and not worthy of further response.

And we know that white voters are going to be split. So statistically, how is it possible for any Republican candidate to win?

In the past it was different. Republicans were more moderate. But since the Tea Party and Evangelicals hijacked the party and drove away what minimal minority support they had, how in the world did any of you think Trump or any Republican candidate for that matter would have a chance at winning the presidency? Just by the numbers, it makes no sense how a Republican can win

It amazes me that some people actually think Trump is going to win or has a chance at winning. Are these people truly blind or just resorting to homerism?

My final question to Republicans in this forum, how many more Presidential losses will it take before Republicans stop catering to Evangelicals and Tea Party members and focus on Moderates? Your current strategy is failing. Do you intend to change it?
Hope springs eternal.

Any Republican running for any office has two opponents, the Democrats and the media.
