The other day I was watching this old debate between Al Gore and Ross Perot

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XEziSYRqhU

and at the 53:22 mark Ross Perot talks about how about how our economy is a failure because he sees college grads working at hotels. I wonder what he thinks now that the same thing is happening to more college grads and college is several times as expensive.

In 1993 there was a bad recession. We still had the so called business cycle then, the reason being interest rates could still fall.

The white collar entry level jobs once available to those with undergraduate degrees began to be replaced by technology in the 80's.

Majors began to matter more in the late 80's.

Walmart, Mc Donalds and Yum Brands ( Taco Bell) became the three largest US private sector employers in the late 80's. These jobs historically trended part time/ low wage.

The country was in the midst of the massive Savings &Loan Crisis which began in the late 80's.

There was a recession.

So called " trickle down" did not produce the intended results.

When you read the Congressional testimonies for Hillarycare from the early 90's, one would think they were talking about right now.

Bring back manufacturing to the US, and let them work till their heart's content. 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, and do it all over again. They would be able to pay back their student loans in no time, and they would earn enough to pay federal income taxes. Manufacturing jobs pay considerably more than retail and fast food, even for entry level workers. Make America great again, and make it in America again!

The more college degrees that are awarded, the less valuable they become. If everybody has a degree, it's no longer special.

Liberals don't care about dumb jobs.

Well good paying dumb jobs anyway as they seem to wet themselves over paying fast food workers 30k a year.

Its ironic that a decent education would have taught one this.
