As for me, Yes, I do; indeed, I still think that Al Gore would have probably been a better President than George W. Bush was.

Anyway, any thoughts on this?

To be fair, anyone would have been better than bush, who was basically cheney's puppet for six of the eight years of his term.

Technically-he won. He just chose not to fight it for some reason.

Al Gore brought the loss upon himself. Granted the economy was starting to go south, and he made excuses for the tech bubble and the like.
However the main thing that sunk him according to Bill Clinton himself, was the gun issue. Heck Al Gore lost his home state of Tennessee. Had he won there, he would have been president.

So no, I do not feel bad that Gore shot himself in the foot.

One thing that's a definite. If Al Gore had been president, they would not have been an Iraq War. As a result, some 4000 military members would still be alive and 100,000+ Iraqi women and children would also still be alive. Furthermore, the US Treasury would have a lot more $$$ for better usage.

Technically AL Gore lost. They kept counting every Chad and the numbers still were more votes for Bush.

Nothing is definite, that's your unsupported opinion only.

Saddam was killing over 50,000 every year, so no there wouldn't be 100,000+ Iraqi women and children alive, there could be 1,000,000+ more dead.

87% fewer violent deaths annually in Iraq now than under Saddam Hussein

If Al Gore had not have had the election stolen from him (Thanks Jeb Bush and Kathleen Harris for going along with Karl Rove's plan to steal Florida) this country would have been far better off, and the 9/11 terrorists might have been stopped, as Bush and company were asleep at the wheel and totally clueless about Al Qaeda.

Then, after 3000 Americans are slaughtered, these idiots go underground for a month making plans to……invade Iraq.

They should be brought up on charges for their conduct and tried before a Federal jury for gross negligence and incompetence.
