Residinghere2007, It's interesting that you mention secular humanism. There is a singer by the name of Anthony David who is also an atheist and a secular humanist. He's an R&B singer. I'm not an atheist myself, that being said, I have more empahty/understanding for atheism than I do in the past.
Use to be kind of a game: "Looks like there's a bit of 'tone' in her, you think?"
I see homosexuals today playing the same sort of game.
I think in the case of an LGBT person, they are trying to avoid the possibility of being disowned by their loved ones. Some are only out to select people.
Being a Louisiana boy, I could probably spot her as black from a mile away (if I had actually seen her). We can often tell a black Frenchman from someone that's Hispanic. On the flip side, in CALIFORNIA there is a sizable population of creoles and they often Do pass of as white, though down here where I'm at.......not so much.
Interesting that you mention Louisiana. That is where my mother is from. She has some Creole ancestry.
As for California Creoles, Sabrina LeBeauf is one of those Creoles who could pass for White. I thought she was White.
Agreed. Especially in the case of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, those branches,of Christianity practice a purer form of Christianity, closer to the original practices. For example, the Sabbath (7th day) is recognized and pork is forbidden etc.
Interesting thing is this. I'm Catholic and I try to stay away from pork.

I don't think you understood what I meant.
Back in the day, when "passing" was actually a thing, we might look at a person who was ostensibly "white" and notice something that was a bit too negroid about him. And we were quick to leap upon significant figures of the past who were discovered to be part black, such as Alexandre Dumas
These days, I see LGBT doing the same thing, such as supposing a homosexual relationship between, say, Lone Ranger and Tonto.
Not for a split second did I ever think she was anywhere close to passing for white.
Understand, I was a kid watching this, 4, 5 years old. If I can mistaken my mother for White (she has more noticeable African features), it would be even easier to mistaken Sabrina Le Beauf for White back in my much younger days.
I have many family and friends who have similar coloring to Sabrina LaBeauf and the idea/suggestion of "passing" is highly insulting. They are very proud of their African ancestry yet many also embrace all of their ancestry as well.
