Trump will be on-site at least twice: for the ground breaking, and for the ribbon cutting. I would bet he'll keep on top of the wall's progress as it gets built.

As for how long it takes, I'm going to say two years for it to be "substantially complete," i.e. at least 90 percent of the border sealed. The remaining portion may take longer due to difficult terrain or something. Trump will want to have a substantially complete wall before the midterm elections.

I want to start a Whitehouse.Gov petition for the Trump administration to start a program where US citizens can donate time/community service to helping build the wall to offset labor costs....

Just waiting for Trump to get in first to start it.... I know Obama will delete it...

The wall will never get started and thus never be completed.

Two years is laughable. It's going to take 2 years just to design it and get through the EIS. More like 20 years. The design is not difficult, but the logisitics are. Need roadways, temporary water supply, etc. Don't forget this will be a federally funded project so the bureaucracy will be ridiculous.

Which is why he's going after the EPA first.

Actually, we could use prison work forces to build.

Wishful thinking. Some of the land is privately held. It will require Eminent Domain (which Trump loves) and a few court battles. Figure at least 2 years before the groundbreaking ceremony

I think the Davis Bacon Act would prevent that. Don't think the contractors would want untrained workers either....that's just begging for their insurance rates to go up.
