BTW...John F. Kennedy is NOT the standard bearer of the Democratic Party. He didn't even make three years in office.

That honor still goes to FDR. And if you say that he wouldn't recognize today's corporate Democrats....you're right....he damn sure wouldn't.

Trickle down like Reagan's?

It was a real tough time to live.

In 1981 the average wage was $13,773.10 which was equivalent to $36,626.60 today when adjusted for inflation.

In 1989 the average wage was $20,099.55 which was equivalent to $41,070.53 today when adjusted for inflation.

Under the agony of Reagan's trickle down real wages went up 12% which pales in comparison to the wonderfulness of full employment and huge wage increases we've enjoyed over 8 years of Obama.

You have to love the argument that all you have to do to raise tax revenue and grow the economy is lower the tax rates. If this was an absolute than why wouldn't we just lower the tax rate to zero. Just think of all the revenue the government would have then.

JFK's overrated. Not to be a dick, but I feel like a huge amount of his popularity was in him getting shot. That's not to say that he was a bad president. He was alright. I'd say more good than bad, but hardly who I'd consider to be the shining ideal of a president. He was a good speaker and you get the sense that he genuinely cared, which is more than I can say about those who were voted for in this election. Not counting Bernie Sanders, of course, who by the way, is like FDR, but more moderate by contrast, which says quite a bit about FDR. He was most socialist president we've ever had, during a time when anti-socialist rhetoric was common, and he was elected 4 times. But somehow, Bernie Sander's, who's policies are similar to that of much of the West, was apparently too unelectable.

Oh how the Democrats have fallen...
