Trump is a business man first and foremost, and seems pretty pragmatic about getting things done. He has reached out to centrist (borderline RINO in some cases) Republicans that opposed him during the primaries or the election, and asked them to serve.
Can you think of any Democrats that actually have useful skills or abilities that he might name to his cabinet or at the least to his administration? Nothing comes immediately to mind. So many of the Dems we hear of these days have never actually done anything outside of the political world (and little enough inside). He needs people that can deliver, not just promise free crap and play identity politics. I can't imagine a Shelia Jackson Lee, a Keith Ellison or a Harry Reid actually offering any useful abilities. What Dems in either the house or senate have had a real job and could contribute? (to be honest, it's not as if R's are that much better).
His cabinet should have nothing but Republicans. Any Democrat joining that administration is just asking for it.
And I don't think that Trump is obligated to reach across the aisle and get Democrats on board. This administration should have a "Republicans Only" stamp on it.
Be careful what you wish for. If he's successful, it could mean 40 years in the desert (or Detroit) for the democrats.
Nah...I'm gonna keep wishing exactly the same thing.
Besides, if he's successful, it'll have nothing to do with the Republican Party. I know that much. Trump won...not the Republicans. The Republican Party was just his vehicle. He's not beholden to the Republicans, and he knows it. You know it too.
