That's because it was reported for hours as a shooting rather than a stabbing. At least one news outlet, can't remember which, even produced a witness who claimed to hear gunshots. Maybe that was the police shooting the suspect. So no, this wasn't some nefarious agenda-driven jump to conclusions by Kaine, it was a persistent misreporting of the facts by the media.
Maybe this will keep Trump and congress busy debating about banning immigrants and visitors from various countries. Maybe it will save Medicare from being cut/privatized because they are busy dealing with immigration bills and related discussions.
Theres no evidence of this being an "Islamic terrorist attack". I actually live in the Columbus area and Somalis have been coming here for 20-30 years without incident. Plus he's not a refugee but a legal resident according to police, so there's no smoking gun here.

He drove his car into the students en mass, then got out with a KNIFE! He then started stabbing anyone he could get near. STABBING, not SHOOTING.
but this didn't stop ABC from posting a picture of the phantom SHOOTER, posing in front of a chistmas tree holding an AR15. literally some random guy with a gun is what they are using despite the fact it was a knife wielding person."
Who did not see this coming? All the anti-Muslim rhetoric from Trump and his basket is having the predicted effect of alienating and radicalizing young US Muslims. Our inclusiveness and willingness to accept all religions in the spirit of our Constitution was our greatest defense against terrorists. Now, that is gone. Expect more.
