The Japanese auto quotas set Detroit back decades and subsidized inefficiency of the us manufacturers. Tariffs work both ways don't think for one minute that other countries won't respond in kind. Get ready to pay more for everything.
And I will admit, it was the Detroit 3's own arrogance that caused this. And sadly an American was the one that helped the Japanese excel in manufacturing.
Don't see the problem with Japanese/European cars being built in the US with US steel, plastic, glass, ect. The point is to make jobs better for Americans.
Trump is not talking about cars he's talking about Washing machines and solar panels. Go read the reviews on Whirlpool washers they are generally awful. the company called and whined to Trump that they are being hurt by imported washing machines but the reality is they are hurt by selling crappy products
That's a comfortable philosophy for you, because you clearly have enough disposable income to be able to replace your GE washing machine when it fails after 2 years of use. Many of the rest of us are not so lucky. We have to buy appliances and cars that last a long time.

Good Riddance.
It's laughable to call it the "Clinton/Obama globalization of America" and speaks of personal bias, nothing else. That globalization began long before Clinton/Obama. In the late '60s RCA manufactured vacuum tube parts in Harrison NJ, boxed them up and sent them to Brazil to be assembled by cheap labor, then shipped them back to the US to be placed in inventory and there's little doubt other companies had similar operations.

That would be as opposed to the Trump idolaters who are more like the followers of Jim Jones, believing everything they're told with little need for anything remotely close to factual support of what they believe.

I'm glad you figured out how to laugh. Seems like it's been a big dose of sour grapes from you since Nov, 8th, 2016. Bad for your health.
But alas, it doesn't change what was said. Clinton sold out America with NAFTA and Obama continued the trend as much as he could. The community agitator never saw a one sided trade deal that he didn't like.
(also glad that you seem to acknowledge that globalization is a very bad thing for the American voter)
