What's so special about 'social programs' that they should be cut
While at the same time the Defense budget is equally a drain on your taxes with very, very low ROI ?

Not to mention the wholly military programs that are conveniently nestled into other non-defense budgets.

I can't remember was it in 2013 or something when the Finnish government asked for a comprehensive study of all social security benefits, and over a million cases were audited going back many years. The result was that 97% of the benefits granted were justified and the recipients acted in good faith.

Meanwhile, Finland has a relatively low labour force participation, mainly of our terrible drug and alcohol policy (let's give them minimum welfare and let them expire naturally), difficulties to employ almost retired personnel (you have to pay full pension though they are with you only for a couple of years), resulting in very high +55 yo unemployment, and finally, the very lacklustre efforts to employ anyone who hasn't finished high school.

The social benefits aren't making people lazy, especially as they are very low even here. A survey by the National Broadcasting Agency showed that 95% of the long-time unemployed wished they had a job and could contribute to the society, 2% saw that they were physically or mentally unfit for working (although not clinically so), and the final 3% said "I don't care, give me some booze or heroin".

I think the main difference is that Finland leaves the outcasts on streets, the US put them in jail. Nevertheless, welfare abuse is not widespread.

The main difference is that Finland isn't pounded by wave after wave of millions of legal and tens of millions of illegal immigrants. If Finland had to absorb and care for what America does, the country would immediately implode in one day. No offense to Finland, it's true. So anyone who compares Finland or Sweden or Denmark or Switzerland to the US (and I recognize that you aren't) is essentially an idiot.

Not really. America has a quite favorable geographic position, protected by two seas and able to select very high income immigrants from various countries. Europe is located next to third world conflict hot spots and Africa. Whenever America starts another war, the people there go to Europe.

Excuse after excuse is used for why America must move towards a social darwinian hell hole where the whip is used to keep workers insecure and frightened but as always, its propaganda.

Just a sampling. This doesn't even touch the billions in corporate welfare that no one cares about. Make elders the scapegoat.

Kill all the liberals. Let's have a country of just alt-right. Now you're talking. What do we call that kind of government?

Why do you always use needless quotations in your posts? Were you an English major drop out or something?

Obviously the rich benefit most from a tax cut, because they pay the the majority of the revenue the government receives. But small businesses also benefit, both those doing well and those struggling along with every taxpayer. One thing is for sure.. for everyone who pays taxes, a tax cut is certainly better than a take hike.

No its not. Funding for roads is slashed by $5 billion through big tax cuts for the donor class and some crumbs to the middle class? Its made up by implementing toll booths on lots and lots of roads. You pay $100 less in taxes and now have to pay $700 a year in tolls. Great deal.
