I would be surprised if Obamas net worth is less then $5-7 million. People forget he was a lawyer and US senator. Both lucrative jobs. He also had a #1 selling book, maybe 2 actually. He's likely made millions just off his book sales.

Whatever he has now will grow very quickly from here on. Former Presidents make a lot of money. He'll write one or more memoir books, and he'll get paid for speaking engagements.

No, community organizers don't get paid much. So clearly money was not his main concern, since he could have gotten his law degree and gone to work for a big city law firm and gotten very wealthy early on. But he was drawn to the community organizing path. It is there that he became religious. Then he got his law degree at Harvard, where he had to gain entrance on his own background, not coming from influential or wealthy parents.

As a Harvard grad and editor of the Harvard Law Review, he could have gone to work for any number of large law firms and gotten wealthy. Instead, he became a civil rights attorney at a small firm, where he worked for 4 years before entering politics.

So while money is important to everyone (or at least the things it buys and allows you to do), that does not seem to be his driving force in life. He seems to be a very happy person, so whatever he does, it works. He smiles a lot, seems to have a great family and a great relationship with his wife and daughters, and with his mother-in-law.

3.2M isn't that much for someone in his position. I would guess that he is worth more than that. But he'll be worth a lot more in the future.

Don't forget his wife had that sweet no-show diversity job at a hospital in Chicago and he had his house essentially purchased for him. The Democrats groomed their Manchurian candidate well.

Note, this is the kind of pap you'll end up reading in a history book. It's also complete baloney. He's like, "wow, Obama is such a happy person." Actually, Obama is probably one of the most petty and angry Presidents ever, as he openly complained when people made fun of his ears, he constantly mocked people from his office, and he used government to attack his enemies.

As far as Obama smiling a lot, you actually find that he only smiles when he's misusing his power. The entire rest of the time, he's scowling or looking down his nose at people as he gets owned by simple questions from a fawning press.

Obama is like Chelsea, he claims to not be concerned about money, except that he grubs for it all the time. He and his wife spend millions on vacations and they don't just vacation at random places, either. They go to Ibiza, Martha's Vineyard, China, Africa. And they go with massive entourages and invite friends and book out entire floors in the most exclusive hotels. But, yeah, they hate money. I mean, Michelle hates money so much that she took a six-figure no-show job, so you know she hates money.

The question of the Obama's wealth is moot because a billionaire who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth got elected simply by wearing a co-op hat to make him look like he knows what its like to be struggling and poor. I bet he is so glad he doesn't have to wear that hat anymore.

The community organizer stuff was a smoke screen, he wouldn' seems so homespun folksy if he was running as a tough Chicago Lawyer. It was great, everyone kept getting beat by this folksy "community organizer." I guess the j i g is up now.

During the four years Obama worked as a full-time lawyer at the firm, he was involved in 30 cases and accrued 3,723 billable hours.[74] Obama was listed as counsel on four cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Two of these cases involved ACORN suing Governor Jim Edgar under the new Motor Voter Act,[75][76] one involved a voter suing Mayor Daley under the Voting Rights Act,[77] and one involved, in the only case Obama orally argued, a whistleblowing stockbroker suing his former employer.[78] All of these appeals were resolved in favor of Obama’s clients, with all the opinions authored by Obama’s University of Chicago colleague Chief Judge Richard Posner.[79]

And yet, he couldn't hold on to his law license, such that he is ineligible to practice law at present.

Granted, he could probably bring his bar association dues current and resume his good standing with the Illinois Bar...but it leaves one to wonder why a purportedly practicing lawyer, who is supposedly such a professional hotshot, would allow his law license to lapse.

Lending great credence, one would surmise, to the supposition that as a lawyer, B. Hussein Obama is less of a professional superstar, and more of a feckless boob.

Obama hadn't been a community organizers since his 20's. Are you that stupid to believe that he was elected president while still a community organizer with no only work or professional experience? He progressed way beyond community work to becoming an attorney, law professor at Chicago State Univ, a state rep, and then state senator becoming POTUS. Do you consider only the first or early jobs of all successful people (most started out working at fastfoods, grocery stores, and the like) or is just Obama because you're so desperate in your attempt to put him down?

Yes,, because practicing law is such a priority for a president.

But really I am sick of this nonsensical attack. Obama and his wife deactivated their law licenses intentionally in order to avoid requirements to keep taking law classes, and 100's in annual fees. He or his wife can reactivate their law license anytime they want, and practice law again.

But why would either of them choose to do so? They are getting along in their years, and have had a successful presidential run. The law license attack is nonsense.
