Federal law does not require Trump to divest his holdings or to sever his ties to his businesses, and the president is not subject to conflict-of-interest rules that govern his Cabinet and other members of the executive branch.

Should President Trump divest his business holdings? Why or why not?

I've heard that Real Estate is not that easy to dump on short notice, either.

If he's a man of his word, at least set up a BLIND TRUST.

But he's backtracked already on several campaign promises, you can't take him for his word.

#LiarinChief.

Trump will do what is in his best financial interest, he isn't concerned about anything else but Trump. He isn't concerned with appearances. He's the President and republicans control every facet of our government. He can do whatever he wants and he will

Most who are writing or reading here expect to live for at least 30+ more years. Will you agree to change tradition (which was based on national experience in the political arena) for America from now on. Is it wise to never be shown tax records for the rest of your life is the question I would expect older generations would know better.

Hmm. How to answer this. I'm going to say no, he shouldn't. He should keep it all and continue exactly as he is doing.

I think the exception is his hotel in DC because of his lease with the GSA had a stipulation about it.

I have to ask... did George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, or John Adams, relinquish theirs?

NO. He should not be forced to divest or relinquish anything. It is just more identity politics and virtue signaling BS, the social justice warriors feed on.

They didn't even use Air Force One. They were true patriots.

No. He should keep everything and spend the next 4 years defending himself against claims he violated the Emoluments Clause. Keep him busy.
