The point of the thread is for Dems to discuss 2020, not for us to placate Trumpettes.

I think it's too soon to speculate, really. It's too soon to know what talent could come to the fore during the next 4 years.

I like that Booker has said he doesn't believe assault rifles or licensed gun owners are a problem. I remember him saying in an interview that he's never seen either involved in a shooting in his city. He says its poor minorities using illegally gotten hand guns.

Why is Trumpette the insult of choice for the left? What specifically is the intent of attaching the feminine ending as the insult?

Besides, Hand-glidin' Joe Biden will be 78 in November of 2020, and as a wise man once told me, old people have NO place in politics.

One thing is certain: if the Democrats are dumb enough to put Keith Ellison in as the head of the DNC, they will pay a heavy price for that. Cory Booker's problem is that he's black, and if the DNC rigs the primary.....err, I mean "he's the chosen one" in 2020, it will likely alienate the rest of the base that isn't down with identity politics.

One thing is certain: four-time loser Hillary Clinton and outgoing President Borat Obama will be constantly meddling in the affairs of the DNC, tone-deaf to the fact that they are relics of the past.

Neoliberal Wall Street Democrats have truly hijacked the Democratic party and its time for Washington Post to realize that or go bankrupt. We've had relentless attacks on Keith Ellison by the corporate neoliberal media in order for the DNC to remain the party of big money influence. Washington Post are just desperately trying to come up with excuses for people to continue to serve moneyed interests and not the people.
You interpreted me saying that there are Alt Right types to mean that the 2 most prominent Progressive Caucus members were those types.

You are wrong. What you should have done is ask me who I thought were those alt right types instead of just assuming.

And to be clear, I wasnt talking about elected Democrats in those cases, I was talking about some of these grass roots types who run these large facebook groups and have started their own small organizations outside of the party.

You're not exactly reaching both audiences that way. You're showing a biased towards one race to push an agenda to gather votes.
except, these are 2 different(but sometimes interconnected) issues

One is race and its role in society, the other is police brutality/Overreach.

You want Democrats to speak equally to all groups, I get that, but speaking to one group shouldnt be seen as hostel to the others(and that seems to be what you are conveying)hence people thinking " Black lives matter" means "(Only)Black Lives Matter"

But those same people understanding that "Blue Lives Matter" doesnt mean "(Only) Blue Lives Matter"

This strategy is bound to fail in 2020 IMO.
If a Democrat ran on FDR's platform, he would indeed be labeled a socialist in todays society, even Bernie Sanders didnt run as far left as to say the government would provide a job where corporations would not.
