I am very excited to have joined the Drexel community after having taught political theory at U.C. Berkeley, San Quentin State Prison, and the Venezuelan School of Planning in Caracas.
Ciccariello-Maher tells The Associated Press by email Monday that the Christmas Eve tweet was meant to be satirical. He says he was mocking what he called the “imaginary concept” of “white genocide,” which he says was invented by white supremacists. He says Drexel’s statement “sends a chilling message.”
Also, just so you know:
Quote:
His online biography says his academic specialties include “race and racism.”
He's been saying these things. He has his own website:

George Ciccariello-Maher is a writer, radical political theorist, and currently Associate Professor of Politics and Global Studies at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He has taught radical theory and politics at Drexel, U.C. Berkeley, San Quentin State Prison, and the Venezuelan School of Planning in Caracas.
Of course the little b*tch protected his Twitter. Can't handle people telling him what a dbag he is, nor can he handle reality.
Drexel knew what this guy was about - this time they have to say something since it became a thing. Why didn't they say anything before? Why didn't they fire him before this? Why did they even hire him, knowing what they did, if they don't support his viewpoints? Seems to me that Drexel does.
(((Maher))) no surprise just as disgusting as that POS Noel Ignatiev comments on the white race. Just another college to mark off the list for my kids. Its never too early to start studying for what kind of college you want your kids to attend. He at least has brought a HUGE spotlight to a very real problem I guess I can thank him for that.
So this guy taught at the Venezuelan School of Planning in Caracas. Seeing what a mess Venezuela is in I'd say his students learned their lessons well.
