Last year NYE in Cologne saw a small army of people sexually attack around 1,000 women. Locals said the men were German-Muslims and recent refugees.

This year police in Cologne set up posts around the center of the city and screened people. 650 people, almost all of North African descent were prevented entry and detained for the night. 92 people were arrested. Some people are saying that the police were unfairly targeting Muslim looking men.

The police say that they were merely targeting men that were "behaving aggressively." However the numbers of detainees and arrests show that overwhelmingly it was Muslim people.

Perhaps it is worth paying lots of extra money for more security, but is it worth racial profiling if that is what happened? On the other hand they didn't have a repeat of the 1,000 female victims in Cologne like last year.

racial profiling=common sense.

That's why liberals hate it so much. Common sense to them is like sunlight to a vampire.

Default German police stops "North African" men from entering Cologn, but did not profile!

We are to believe that the German police prevented the repeat of last year's rape fest in Cologn by randomly stopping 650 people from entering the city center. Somehow, these 650 people turned out to be "North African", most likely Syrians too, by pure chance. They need their own Trump to cut through the crap.

Racial profiling can be useful in some cases, but is it worth detaining 650 people for several hours simply because they look Muslim?

Now in the police defense, they claim that all 650, nearly all of which were of North-African descent, were behaving aggressively.

How much preventing one rape is worth to you? This is the same line of thinking that says we should tolerate a certain amount of crime by illegals because that's just life. Women get raped every day after all. So what if a few rapists are Muslim.

Some of these same people would be willing to detain every white college student in the US over the alleged "rape culture" here but the thought of detaining an actual rape culture (proven by events in Cologne last year) is too much.

I don't live in Germany and don't have any thoughts on their decisions. The leaders were elected by the people and their choice.

I saw military dressed men with long guns in front of synagogues in several European countries on my trips abroad in the 80s, 90s, and 00s. It unnerved me. Even back then, Europe wasn't safe for Jewish houses of worship and I attributed it to the Muslim immigrants. I won't go back to Europe ever, probably.

Their country, their decision. That's my thought.

How others chose to protect their citizens is their business.

Hopefully, we will learn from the mistakes of others.
