From what I have read, I see no real reason to let this person go. His being 74 years old does not move me to clemency.
It is a problem with departing Presidents having the power to 'pardon'. It is open to abuse. I did not really mind the Manning pardon for various reasons (partly due to letting the government off the financial hook for gender-reassignment surgery), but this guy?
Nevertheless, I shall wait for further details (if any) before issuing a blanket condemnation.
