yes, he, uh, uh uh, needs to, um, uh, speak with an air of, uh uh uh, superior-uh-teeee. As if he is , uh,uh,uh wracking his brain for the uh, uh, uhhhhhh correct and most, um OFFICIAL sounding woooord.
So you're saying he needs to speak like Prof. Obama who - when speaking of prompter - uses the word "uh" more than any other word in his speech?
What? We were told that means he's actually smarter than most people. In fact, I remember a presidential historian/professor telling us that Obama may be the smartest person to ever be president of these United States. Take that Thomas Jefferson!
I was actually optimistic about GHW Bush (1988-1992) because of his war record. My Dad told us he was a hero because he serviced in the Marines where Bush flew and he knew of him even back then as being a stone cold pilot who would dive on anything he was ordered to attack (many would not).
And I think GHW Bush was a solid President except for not allowing General Schwartzkopf to finish off the Iraqi's. Or he was especially brilliant for not allowing it, I don't know which is true.
Well, I think he was brilliant for not going into Iraq. His son proved that, and Obama put a period on it (while failing to learn the lesson and destabilizing another Muslim country and funding and arming rebels to destabilize yet another).
Not personal bankruptcies. Business-related. And it's certainly not a rare event, companies having to declare bankruptcies.
That distinction doesn't really help Trump's case, does it? Trump's corporate bankruptcies are "business-related" epic failures. He also captained other non-Chapter 11 failures, like Trump Airlines, Trump Vodka, and Trump University, just to name a few. Because our society allows failed businessmen to hide behind corporate veils and avoid exposing themselves to any personal risk, those same businessmen get an infinite number of do-overs. People with trust funds and family connections, like Trump, have a legal and financial safety net that allows them to screw up over and over again until they stumble on a winning formula. Their privilege also gives them wide latitude to diversify. In Trump's case, he was born into the world of real estate, where he piggybacked on his father's success, but he also had the luxury of blowing money on things like a USFL football team.
Trump didn't build his real estate empire from scratch. He took over as president of his family's real estate company and expanded its existing operations. The infrastructure was already in place. If you give a gerbil the keys to an established company and teach it a few tricks, it'll probably make some money. But it's still just a gerbil.
If I scrape together $50,000 of my hard-earned money to start a small business and it fails, I could probably take advantage of the corporate structure to stiff my creditors and avoid losing my house, just like Trump. But I probably wouldn't have the seed money to start another business. On the other hand, if you spot me a trust fund, a free education, and Daddy's company, I'll keep rolling those dice until I get a Yahtzee.
Heck, if you gave me $20M in 1976 and I left it in a managed account for 40 years with a 7% average rate of return, I'd have $300M before adjusting for inflation. Adjust the average return to 10%, and suddenly I'd have $900M without even lifting a finger. I wouldn't even need to cultivate a brand by objectifying woman and telling people they're fired.
I agree 100%...
This 'moron' just beat HRC overwhelmingly so, and is about to show the world what a leader does: HE LEADS!
On the Trump Train - ALL ABOARD!!!
Overwhelming. 3 million ACTUAL vote loss. Good God, you fools are delusional. He has no mandate. There is no referendum on supposed liberal policies. The majority of the country didn't vote for him, and that's fact, and that's why hes not a legitimate President.
Though after Obama, just about anyone who could actually come close being President wouldn't match the complex thoughts and ideologies of Obama, him to Trump is a bigger drop in intellect than Clinton to Bush.
Putin and Trump just might end up being friends not because of what people have been told such as "he owes them money" or "he's Putin's puppet" etc. The truth of the matter is that like Trump, Putin is also a nationalist instead of a globalist. And that is one of the main reasons the elite neoliberals hate both of them. If you want to talk puppets, then talk of Hillary Clinton and other politicians who have huge fundraising events with big corporate donors who fully expect their favors to be returned. Trump on the other hand is self funded and is his own man, unsponsored, thus far at least. And I hope he stays that way.
And Trump is no moron. He may not overuse the teleprompter with pre scripted speeches like other politicians, and hence doesnt always use the biggest most impressive words in the dictionary. Who cares? The man is one of those guys where he walks into a situation, observes it, and quickly comes to an understanding of the inner workings, politics, and agenda of people at the event. He has a broad vast knowledge of trade and international finance that is far more advanced and useful in any situation as opposed to some lifelong bureaucrat who only has some vague economic theory that they read up on and no real world experience.
Just wondering how long the Trump fanboys have been 'fans'? Know him well, do you?
If it hasn't been since 1988, you do not know to whom you are giving your adulation.
That is really what makes the those who are familiar with and disrespect Trump so confident and smug, you know. We've been there, done that, seen it already. I so remember the 80s, watching the average Midwest Joe fall all over Trump after Tony Schwartz wrote the Art of the Deal. It was the 80s--the only desire was to be rich. Greed was in, Wall St. was No. 1 film. Trump snowed 'em. Then it faded because Trump's soap opera life became the joke and Trump started bankrupting casinos. Didn't really fit with the image.
Then came The Apprentice. Trump was so funny and entertaining as he exclaimed "You're Fired." Then it got old and the ratings dropped and people got that Trump's whole thing was promotion and product placement--not charity.
So now we've got a freshman class of a cult who think Trump is the second coming. This heavy breathing anticipation of Trump greatness will also fade as people get a good look at who this guy is. He's 70--hasn't changed one bit. Still hung up on Ivanka and now her significant other is right up there, because if Ivanka is a brilliant goddess, then her chose husband must be a genius. And Trump has no idea what he thinks, but trusts Ivanka's opinions explicitly to guide him.
Sigh. This too shall pass. Everything with Trump always does. He just can't stay bright and shiny for very long. Reality dulls the sheen.
IIRC Forbes put it his inheritance at $20 million.
And yet he still couldn't manage to pay his bills and filed multiple bankruptcies. Which meant a lot of everyday, hard-working Americans were stiffed.
At least it was his own money he lost, if any of this is true. While Hillary and President Obama were leaving servers and emails for others to open and pretended on the behalf of those who worship them that they never knew. Or how about all the raw deals with Iran and Russia, that no one likes to speak about.
I think I'd rather follow a man who at least tried, lost and succeeded in life on his own money, not the open bank account of American taxpayers.

This was a great post. I'd worked in Manhattan since 1979. It still seems surreal. DONALD TRUMP was elected President.
We'll see how this goes.
