Well, this is the new normal. When you blatantly lie, like this administration is seemingly going to do, you have to come up with a new phrase for your lies. Today Kellyanne Conway, referencing the lies told by Press Secretary Sean Spicer on his estimates of inauguration crowd size, called them "alternative facts".
This is straight out of the Russian playbook, where the government uses propaganda in every press release.
Quote:
However, crowd size experts told the New York Times they estimated Trump's audience at fewer than 200,000 people, and widely distributed side-by-side photographs showed the stark contrast between the comparatively sparse crowd for Trump's inauguration and the record-setting crowd for Obama's first.
Asked on "Meet the Press" why Spicer used his first appearance before the press to dispute a minimal issue like the inauguration crowd size, and why he used falsehoods to do so, Conway pushed back.
"You're saying it's a falsehood and Sean Spicer, our press secretary, gave alternative facts to that," she told NBC's Chuck Todd.
Kudos to Chuck Todd for saying there is no such thing as an "alternative fact", it is actually a falsehood.
Poor Kelly Anne, having to smile and act like she's not lying when everyone on earth knows she is. And not little insignificant lies, but whoppers.
Let's see how long she sticks around. I'm thinking that somewhere in her being there's a tiny smidjen of integrity that'll lead her to do the right thing and resign.

I just watched that. Alternative facts--that was a good one. She came unglued so fast. Usually, that happens when people know they're caught in a lie or are defending against something they've done. Though protest too much thing.
She'll only last till she gains a few pounds. Then, her boss will tell her "you're fired."
The best liar always wins in politics.
We've seen that with Obama lying over and over.
Media lies are constant and they are losing.
They need to up there game or Trump will keep winning.
That poor woman is in way over her head. I honestly think she's good at her job, but her job is just a **** show. I mean, really, what the **** is she supposed to do in this situation? The Press Secretary obviously made **** up. The media spins things, sure, but numbers are objective and his were wrong. She pretty much either has to say that, which could very well cost her a job or say some crazy **** like "alternative facts."
This is not something to laugh about; this is very serious. It took three questions before she finally admitted the Press Secretary told a lie, but to present it as "an alternative fact" is beyond frightening. Let's hope the majority of this country sees this for what it is and calls BS. If we don't, worse lies and coverups will come - because they know they can get away with it. I felt my blood pressure rise 50 points when I was trying to watch that interview. The biggest takeaway? How she threatened to change the administration's "relationship" with the press! This administration isn't even three days old, and she is already saying this. Think about that.
