One of the suckiest countries in the world.
Which part of Mexico have you ever spent time in? And what other counties have you visited that you are comparing it to?

I'm not even sure what this is referring to.

Are we playing basketball?

Is there a burrito cookoff?

Are trying to figure out who can rope a bull the fastest?

What?

I support NAFTA and free trade generally. That puts me on both sides.

Try Costa Rica or Panama.

I'm on the side of rational, logical thinking and actions. Trump has shown neither in his responses to this stupid wall BS. But if you want to pay more for goods imported from Mexico because of that stupid 20% tariff, be my guest.

There is simply no reason to "take sides"; Mexico has been moving (albeit slowly) away from the one-party quasi-democracy of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) since the election of Vicente Fox some fifteen years ago. The process is a slow one, because Mexico hasn't got much of a middle class (and the PRI doesn't want one, and Barry, Hillary and the other elitist Democrats have the same model in mind for the United States).

Say WHAT???

Mexico is also held hostage by the drug cartels, and can't afford to challenge the "pass-through" illegal immigration from Central America to the north. But just as on this side of the border, many of the best-educated in Mexican society know what's wrong, but can't deal with it -- caught between an unscrupulous clique at the top and an ignorant mass underneath.

As an aside, for an interesting take on conditions in Mexico, get yourself a copy of of Joseph Wambaugh's Lines and Shadows and Fugitive Nights. Fiction, of course, but it's still a realistic tale of what honest policemen on both sides of the border have to face.
