If so some free trade! Makes President Trumps threat make sense.
It's not free trade if one side has tariffs!
I remember this was a problem with those Mexican trucks. They were so unsafe with drivers running 20 hours a day staying awake on drugs something had to be done. I can't believe the Obama Administration actually did the right thing.

Yes, those tariffs were removed in 2011 once the US agreed to allow Mexican registered trucks to travel throughout the NAFTA region.
Please note, the tariffs were not put in place just for kicks and giggles. The US had agreed to allow Mexican trucks to have full access to the US as part of the NAFTA agreement by 2000. As of 2009, the US still had not allowed Mexican registered trucks to travel beyond a few miles of the border and then were stopped from going beyond the border at all. That is when and why Mexico placed tariffs on some US made products.
So, are you willing to pay extra for all you get from Mexico? Just remember most of your winter fruit comes from there.
And while you're at it, Mexico is not the only country that supplies us with winter fruits. Mexican produce and be left on the grocery shelves to rot while we purchase fruits and veggies from other countries like Chile.

And when that winter fruit starts coming in from Honduras and Guatemala instead of Mexico, they'll be back with their hat in their hand.
All the leverage is on our side.
