Wow, I would never remain friends with such a person.
Liberals are the most racists anti tolerant people around. They hate the majority of people, as LBGT etc are the minority, which apparently is all they like or can tolerate.

Yes, Obama did that.

What Obama DID NOT do is abrogate the rights of green card and visa holders with no warning.

We're not hypocrites any more than you are.

It's apparent though that we worry more about basic legal rights than you do.

I believe it. Blind allegiance seems much more common among Democrats.

I'm guessing the poster excused everything Hillary does just as he excuses the behavior of his best friend.

All this hand wringing over green card and visa holders from terrorist countries.

Maybe someday the libs will care as much about native-born U.S. citizens.

Because this isn't the same.

Obama paused refugee applications. Refugee applicants obviously have no legal status in the US yet.

Trump abrogated the rights of green card and visa holders with no warning. These are people who have actual legal status under the law ALREADY.

You Trump-ites do realize that yesterday's ill-considered, hasty ban on Muslims entering the country from abroad has made our relationships with most countries around the world, much, much worse, don't you? We are far less safe than we were 48 hours ago, as a direct result of this hasty, spiteful action.

Those banned include Christians who have been persecuted, translators who worked directly with American armed forces and intelligence, graduate students who were granted scholarships by Yale and Harvard, medical researchers dedicated to cardiology, and families with small children who were driven out of their countries and were living in Turkish refugee camps while working diligently for the past two years to obtain refugee status and green cards so they could immigrate.

These people are no threat to America, and had their origins been different - or had this been two days ago - they would have been welcomed by our government. It was heartening to see rallies at airports around the country, of truly patriotic Americans welcoming these people.

Those who think this action of Trump's is good, and patriotic, and "American" - are none of those things. Take a look at what's written on the base of the Statue of Liberty. Learn your own family history - many of us descend from refugees. I do.

I am thankful that my persecuted Huguenot ancestors found a welcome and shelter in early America, and that those who arrived there earlier and came for economic opportunities, did the humane, civilized, truly Christian thing and offered the poor souls on the "Mary and Ann" friendship and assistance, when they arrived in Manakintown on that cold December day, 1700, having sold all their remaining worldly goods to raise the cost of their passage.

Without that blessed help, they would have starved to death that first winter, unless they died of exposure first.

No one questioned the refugees' political views, poverty, inability to speak English, religious differences (they were Calvinists - their hosts were Church of England), or cultural differences back then. Instead, the newcomers were given food, clothing, shelter, friendship and encouragement by Virginians of English origin who were already established in the colony.

As they were commanded to do by Jesus Christ himself.

"I was a stranger, and you took me in..."

Doesn't matter what the news was about, everything is political and eveything is the fault of Hillary Obama. Try doing that in the real world away from your inner circle and family.
Here, you aren't flaunting numerical dominance. Your numerical dominance largely only exists in the population centers, and very slightly in just a few northern states.

What you are flaunting here, to your ultimate / eventual detriment, is control of the ability to suppress free speech through social penalty; enforced through the media.

Much of the political undercurrent of Trump's election was protest against such social oppression.

The end of the story for sociopolitical oppression generally does not work out well for the oppressors.

My best and oldest friend is conservative. He might have voted for Jimmy Carter but we werent old enough to vote, and by the time we were 18 he was firmly against Carter and has voted Republican in every election since, till 2016. He's racist, showing particular contempt for blacks (as do most others in his family), never finished college, hates Clinton and Obama with a passion, owns a large international manufacturing company he inherited. Until getting married at nearly 50 was a serial womanizer of very young women. For decades he has moaned and groaned that "we need a business man in the White House."

But even he couldn't vote for Trump.
This anecdote is a waste of forum space. What's your point, even if your anecdote is unembellished?

60+ million people did vote for Trump.

Here it seems you are merely indulging your uncontrolled emotion in needing to slam conservatives in association with your friend's degeneracy. You really don't want to go down the path of comparing degeneracy on the Left and the Right. You'll lose.

Additionally, I'm over-educated as are a large number of Trump supporters. If you wish to debate me, or measure qualifications, then have at it.

The Left's continued, but failing, narrative that conservatives hold their beliefs because of lack of information could not be more wrong. It's also excessively insulting, and is another undercurrent of the increasingly violent political divide in this nation. The Left cannot engage honestly on social and political logic and policy, and so it results to calling the opposition stupid. Well, you can do that, but it's you who is highlighting your inability, but more pertinently your unwillingness, to intellectually engage.

I used to be a liberal, and a politically engaged and informed one at that. More information, above what liberals have in general, is what converted me.

So, bark all you would like. However, until you people stop relying on caricatures for your political arguments, you will be assumed to have no intellectual bite.

Bannon has been appointed to the National Security Council. This is totally insane, as is Trump.

We will not let this become North Korea or Russia. I'm sure Trump will have anyone joining investigated as they did in the 50s and his Enemies List will grow longer.

This is not America. He has the support of a minority of the country and over half of the country disagree with actions. Let the sheep accept this maniac. The rest of us won't.

Tired already of Nutty Don and his belief that he was elected dictator.

It's funny how he cannot get the congress to pass anything and he feels the need to XO it. The guy has no patience and a short attention span. A combination which is not good.
