Harvested, not hacked. The silly games in Facebook (like what you look like in opposite gender) ask you to agree to surrender your friend list to the application, so while you play the game, you are sending your friends information to this company.
The data is used for marketing, and apparently also in political campaigns.
The FB users should not have the authority to send other peoples data anywhere.
I'll say it again; anyone who thinks Mark Zuckerberg created FB and or the thing still keeps going so May Dear can share pictures of her grandkids or whatever is deluded, or at least not very well informed.
Facebook is one large data/information collection enterprise, that then turns around and chops up then sells bits of that information in aggregate to whoever is willing to pay their prices.

Fact that Mr. Zuckerberg, his sister, other family members along with select others are worth billions from something that does basically nothing simply shows where the US and other world economies have moved.
It took companies like Ford, IBM, General Motors, and so forth decades to reach those sort of stock valuations, and they actually produced tangible things.

Yes; it's enough to make me want to delete Facebook. Too many people are getting access to my information; it has nothing to do with who is posting what.
Not on Facebook, family members are and the stuff they come up with was right off the pages of Facebook.
