Yes, they are that smart. Certainly much smarter than butt-hurt guy on the internet. I disagree with conservative judges all the time, but I don't question their intelligence.

As a IT Security consultant, I have never done security audits at various financial and even legal firms and never seen one person originated from any of those nations in over 2 decades.
I expect some in the government contractors who may be Iraqi but they should have special government clearance to get through the ban.
Stopping the refugees is a whole different agenda, but I can't think of any American protesting would be deeply affected by this.
My US based company has a number of employees and customers in countries all over the world, including these countries. Therefore this travel ban may have a significant impact on our business operations, both in terms of employee travel back to HQ in the US as well as customer travel to the USA for meetings, etc. I'm sure that Trump never gave a moments notice to this or any other unintended consequences. If it "feels good" and "looks good" do it. That's his philosophy.
