There are lots of sources saying he's being investigated for telling the police to stand down. He was also one of the loudest against allowing Milo to speak.
No it isn't. Read the title of this thread. Start there and then expand your grasp of what free speech is and isn't.
Childish hyperbole.
please note it is the left that has an organization called "Antifa" which is short for Anti-Fascist.... whose whole purpose is to protest everything the right does and calling everything the right does "fascist"
so if we are going to start calling things "childish hyperbole" when the over use of the term "fascist" is used, we might start with the progressive left.
That's exactly what Milo wanted in the end. The guy wants desperately to be a victim.
The sad thing about all of this is the fact that Milo is a total unimportant figure with over the top and outrageous opinions that have zero intellectual meaning and should not be taken seriously. He's a comedic person, a professional troll, so why some people should even treat him like a serious political opponent in the first place? That's giving too much importance to him, and he loves that.
I'm gonna be honest, I condemn unprovoked violence, but I certainly didn't hate neither I was horrified when Richard Spencer got punched in the face. But I didn't like the violence in UC Berkeley because it was not only unnecessary but it was completely counter-productive. Milo doesn't deserve the attention that he gets, it's the violent reaction that it's turning him famous, not his opinions.
If Milo wanted to be a victim, he would be a Democrat.
Please tell us what Milo has ever said that 'isn't' free speech. What, specifically, has he said that should not be allowed to be spoken.
Waiting...
see the way this works is, he will suggest to you that Milo was not opposed by government. That "free" speech doesn't mean free from repercussions from fellow citizens.
he will suggest to you that 'hate speech" cannot be protected from reasonable people who take a very moral stand to oppose it.
(there will be no mention of government orders to police to stand down and let the "protests" escalate to violence. Nor will there be any admission that the violence was really that bad. Further, there will be a comparison to protests from the right during the last 8 years.... all followed by a mic drop and high fives from fellow progressives. )
Don't expect rationality.
