Climate change whistleblower alleges NOAA manipulated data to hide global warming 'pause' - Washington Times

"Climate change whistleblower alleges NOAA manipulated data to hide global warming ‘pause’"

"The climate change debate went nuclear Sunday over a whistleblower’s explosive allegation that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association manipulated data to advance a political agenda by hiding the global warming “pause.”

In an article on the Climate Etc. blog, John Bates, who retired last year as principal scientist of the National Climatic Data Center, accused the lead author of the 2015 NOAA “pausebuster” report of trying to “discredit” the hiatus through “flagrant manipulation of scientific integrity guidelines and scientific publication standards.”"

Karl's study was released shortly before the Paris climate change accords were drafted and provided an explanation for the observed halt in global warming in the 15 previous years.

Was the explanation based on biased data? It looks like that can't be ruled out.

Fake news?

Bates accused former colleagues of rushing their research to publication, in defiance of agency protocol. He specified that he did not believe that they manipulated the data upon which the research relied in any way.
"The issue here is not an issue of tampering with data, but rather really of timing of a release of a paper that had not properly disclosed everything it was," he said.

We are definitely seeing a mild winter this year in Minnesota. January seemed more like March. We had one cold blast that lasted about 10 days and outside of that, very mild.

What do people think they are gaining by denying climate change.

Ignorance maybe, not much else.

The truth is very little of "climate science" is understood. They might be onto something...but just because you know the introduction to a book does not make you a scholar on it.

There are too many variables that are unknown and not understood.

Climate change is not a "scam". It is what it is. Some possibly could be caused by man but most I believe is a cycle and all about the ocean temps and also the cycles of the Earth's core which is much like the Sun, runs in cycles.

Ok.

So you admit man plays a significant role in climate change. So I don't know why you are disagreeing with me.
