What I have found both surprising and disheartening is that the social progress I thought we had made was a damn lie. Bigots are out in droves, feeling that they can now say what they really think without consequences. It's sad to see so many who haven't changed the views that were common a hundred years ago.
Whats sad is a political party who thinks it is more important to legislate which bathroom a transgender person gets to use, than what is happening in the real world around us..........
All you have to do to turn off hatred is to refuse to hate. We control the way we feel. How hard is it to walk away?
Has anyone been in a situation where a person shook their head and walked away in disgust from your ignorance? Did you not feel like a fool?
Why can we not simply turn away from hatred? It is a decision we make everyday. We can choose to love one another or we can choose to hate one another.
Hate begets hate. Love begets love.
Our minds are a product of iniquity. Twisted and contrived thoughts pollute our minds because of those who spread hatred and discontent. They seek to divide you, yet a house that is divided WILL NOT STAND!!!
If you do not have empathy, empathy will not be shown to you! There is not enough resources on this planet for all of us to be selfish. We must learn to share and to find ways to do more with less.
However, if we cannot love one another, we will never move forward.

Anyone who doesn't acknowledge and subscribe to this extremist BS is the enemy. They were leaderless until Trump came along. Trump made himself the prime mover in this obsession and spews out all kinds of lies and fake "facts" for the wingnut faithful. Trump is starting to unite the left wing activists who have been fragmented around various issues. The women's march is a beginning of people coming together.
Blame the malcontents, Rush Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs, Hannity, and Fox News in general. Then the Tea baggers started their crap. Then Republican Obstruction for 8 years. Now, McConnell wants to know why the democrats are obstructing. Really? Republicans are either a little touched or have a case of Alzheimer's. Possibly both....

No. I think there are a few rabble rousers spewing vitriol that are making it seem like there is more division than actually exists in the general population.
The thing with the silent majority is they are too busy working to attend riots, so certain individuals assume a lack of civil unrest indicates a lack of support, but the truth is we are busy moving forward.

As an independent..........watching the "left wing activists" is enough to keep me on the side of the republicans. As distasteful as that is........what I am seeing now from the media and the far left makes me puke.

For some reason, Kim Davis comes to mind as the poster person for this contingency.
She is the county clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples as this would be immoral and “forever echo in her conscience.”
Kim Davis has been married four times, gave birth to twins five months after divorcing her first husband. The twins were fathered by her third husband but adopted by her second.
Yet Kim Davis believes she has the moral authority to decide what criteria determines a real marriage.
I've never seen so much hatred in this Country......
