Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau said Mejia was released from state prison in April 2016 following a grand theft auto conviction in 2014. He was on probation under Assembly Bill 109, a state law mandating early prison releases for nonviolent offenders, when he allegedly shot and killed Boyer and Torres. AB 109 was signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown in 2011.
Right. Sure. We don't care. You figured us out. We're not parents, sons and daughters, friends, conscientious citizens, etc. Here's an idea: every time something bad happens, blame it on a liberal. I'm sure that'll solve a lot of problems.
This sounds like a problem with society as a whole and not a liberal or conservative problem. How did we fail as a society to create someone who commits frequent crimes? Why is this not a problem in places like Canada and much of Europe?
I couldn't decide if I wanted to go out chillin' with my killin' thugs today or take care of my husband who is undergoing cancer treatments. I opted for the helping of the husband. We'll see how tomorrow goes. Hopefully the thugs will understand that I just can't come out and be a troublemaker right now.

Why am I not surprised that someone from Chicago thinks there aren't repeat offenders in Canada and Europe? They need to check the water supply in Chicago. Damn I'm glad I left Illinois.
Another criminal with a rap sheet a mile long and kills just out of prison
Sort of like the Reagan Tokes’s murder, she was just murdered right after brian golsby was released from prison.
"Records show he was freed in November after a five-year incarceration for robbery and attempted rape. Golsby is registered as a sex offender in Franklin County, Ohio."
The guy only got five years for robbery and attempted rape, what an amazing judicial system we have! Liberal Judges will go to hell and back to protect illegal immigrants and refugees and fight trump but allow criminals basically out on the street to murder and rape
According to Elan Carr a Criminal Gang Prosecutor for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and a Iraq War Veteran (republican) Arnold Schwarzenegger is also responsible for laying the groundwork that created AB 109. How AB 109 Jeopardized Public Safety - California Political Review
AB 109 reduces state deficits by reducing the prison population. "AB 109 allows for qualifying offenders with no history of violent, serious or registerable sex offenses or other exclusionary offenses to serve their sentences under local custody - in county jails as well as through community-based alternatives" (taking that financial burden away from the state.) http://www.mcgeorge.edu/Documents/Pu...azzi_FINAL.pdf http://www.ccpab109toolkit.com/faq.html
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jerry Brown had to take steps to reduce state spending after the GW Bush tax cuts took billions of federal funding away from their state. And it was republican federal policy that created the need for AB 109 to reduce state deficits.

LOL, I literally just moved here like a day ago from Texas.
There are repeat offenders everywhere, but it's far less common in Europe. I remember reading about the Netherlands actually closing prisons because there weren't enough people in them to make them worthwhile.
