As much as Donald Trump wishes the talk of a Russian/Trump connection during the election would go away, it is not going to happen the way he wants. This one is too important to sweep under the carpet, and there will be hearings and investigations.
That's why the birther idiot is holding a rally. Anything to deflect and stroke his demented ego because the majority of people don't trust him and cannot stand him.
I would think that people on both sides want this resolved once and for all. No way this Presidency can go on with a cloud of suspicion over it's head. If nothing is found, ok, but if something is there, we need to know.

His supporters do not want to know and I am not so sure that if they did know that it was in fact true, that it would even bother them and that's the really startling and troubling part.

Russia, a country Obama derided Romney about in the 2012 Presidential debates for calling this country the primary geopolitical enemy of the US, is now public enemy #1 of the Left. Amusing.
I know some very smart Progressives and on many subjects they are brilliant, but they are dumb on politics.

Almost every President, including Trump, came into office with stars in their eyes, believing we could make nice nice with Russia. Every one of them, including Obama, soon learned we are a totally different path than the Russians and there is no getting along with them. Their goals are 180 out of phase with ours and they will never bend to our way of thinking.
Trump is semi learning that lesson right now, for which I do have to give him some credit. His stance is slightly less rah rah for Putin than it was, and the Russians are realizing it. Not sure where this will end up, but time will tell. So, to chastise Obama for being naive is also to blame Trump for the same thinking.
