Historically, it's been progressive democrats that have set to malign wealthy individuals and corporations. Now, we're seeing this behavior from Repubs and Trumpites.
What is going on?
Why do people dislike wealthy people? (aka anyone making 160K+...which is around 10% of the american public)
What is the lefts logic for the class warfare against wealthy people?
What is the rights logic for the class warfare against wealthy people?
Deep down, this is probably true.
I tend to think we should all strive to be in the top 1% and wealth accumulation and intellectual elitism should be heralded as good things.
After eight years of Obama of course we have class warfare. It's all about identity politics with libs...divide and conquer.
During obama, there was certainly some of those sentiments coming from the occupy movement. But the tea party also pushed an anti elitist/wealthy message. Also, a lot of these feeling have always existed....just look at peoples' views of jewish people in the US, which is based on their hatred of "small" groups of people being financially and intellectually successful

It's literally impossible for all of us to be in the 1%. I guess you're being sarcastic though.
There are two main political parties. Greed is a human frailty. Greedy people use politics for personal gain.
Greedy people on the extreme left and extreme right are very rich. Those people are getting richer and they are making their friends richer. Then there's the rest of us. The rest of us see the rich and hate it but the rich make us think it's someone else's fault (it's those Democrats, it's those Republicans, it's the...)
The cause is billionaire elitists on both sides who purposely make the rest of us feel like peasants. The peasants need to unite and revolt. We need a REAL party of the people.

I was merely saying that everyone should strive for greatness...financially, intellectually, etc. And part of that means striving for great wealth. Of course, most people will never get even close to the top 20%, but that is a different story

Somehow you've gotten it backwards and inside out.
Class warfare is ALWAYS employed by the rich against the poor.
Haven't you heard/read the numerous reports in recent years about how middle class/working class income has stagnated over the past several decades while the wealthy have become ever more bloated?
What's puzzling is how their main instrument, the GOP, has been so successful in recruiting the losers in this war onto their team to fight for the rich, who reward them by sending their jobs to India, China, Indonesia, Mexico, etc.
The wealthy are the ones who declared class warfare, and they're the ones winning the war in case you haven't noticed.
None of you are wealthy, so why are you trying so hard to be an advocate for the rich? Trust me, they can afford their own advocates and they damn sure aren't paying you for your advocacy. Some of you don't know what team you're on. The rich have a pretty damn good team and a great union, and NONE OF YOU belong to either group.
Don't worry about trying to protect the wealthy's piece of the pie. They're doing just fine. They don't need you out here fighting to protect their interests. Worry about how to get a bigger piece of that pie for yourself.
And you aren't going to get it by fighting like hell to protect the rich.
