US Marshals guard DeVos after tense nomination process | Fox News

The lady is not wanted. And this is how it will continue. She herself does not even believe in the school system, teachers want her gone!
From her comments, seems she is there to privatize the schools. Period

It's shameful that union thugs, and their ilk threaten the Secretary of Education.

It really shows that the unions don't care about the children, they only care about their jobs.

Shameful.

I would rather we abolish it outright. But "school-choice" is definitely better than what we have now.

Considering we spend more per student than most other countries can you blame her?

I'll take that as a positive sign.

Here is PA our former governor Corbett had an excellent proposal.

They were going to target vouchers for the worst performing and typically poorest districts in the state. That voucher could of been used at either private or public school. Since the state provides about half the funding schools losing students would have lost overall funding but since they were keeping the local funding the per student funding would have increased.

This was not received well by the unions or Democrats... Why? I'm pretty sure they realized such a program had an excellent chance of succeeding and these poor performing public schools would eventually have to be dissolved.

Although she should, there is no indication DeVos wants to privatize the education system...the left is just whining because a boob of their choosing isn't calling the shots.

She bought her way into that position by donating large sums of money to Republican candidates. Money she didn't earn that money, she inherited and married into wealth and has no experience with public schools. She wants to use our hard-earned tax payer dollars to destroy the public schools we rely on. She's made no effort to hide her agenda or her ignorance. I do not wish her physical harm but it is understandable that lots of people don't like her.
