No... that doesn't sound accurate.

First you need to figure out exactly what type of military you want. If you want a military in endless wars, policing the globe then I guess you'd support Trump's position.....

This amount could pay for preschool for all 3 and 4 year olds, but then again a couple more aircraft carriers or something is way more important, right?

Why preschool? We already spend more than anyone else in the world. Sounds like we should spend more wisely and spend more on the student and not spend as much on the bureaucracy.

"United States spent $15,171 on each young person in the system — more than any other nation covered in the report."

Why? Well, last time I checked we paid a lot of money for daycare when our kids were that old. Not sure how educational it was, but it was expensive.
About spending more wisely - all for it, for instance, the high schools around where I live, don't need NFL class stadiums (they don't do this in other countries), but they have them. How much of the number above was spent on that?

The point is we spent ENOUGH (sorry, I meant too much) on defense. Don't want to spent the 54 bil. on preschool? Fine, lower taxes then

We already spend more on defense than the next 10 countries combined and you're worried about preschool?

As someone who has served.....there is so much fat that can be cut from the DOD budget and we still would have a military 10x better than Russia....That said, We spend like 10x than Russia yet the media claims they are a credible threat. So we really dont need to spend that much more. We need to upgrade it and cut the fat.

Trump has claimed that the increase will pay for itself from the revved up economy with him in office. Seriously? He literally said that almost word for word.
