Why... have they already selected the Military Contractors who are in need of MORE money? Go back and get the Trillion"(s) that went Missing in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Not one dime of any allocated money should go to "soldier's of opportunity as in.. military contractors" as being sanctioned hit squads.
We are a nation, if we want to do Military Actions, then it will be done by the Military, not private vendors who bleed the coffers and pay off politicians to run their "money grabbing processes".

We have Military Branches, Intelligence Agencies, and diplomats, let them do their jobs and keep down conflict.

I'm sure the contractors are out having champagne tonight. Big business for them.

He did not offer details, but the administration is likely to go after longtime Republican targets like the Environmental Protection Agency."

How does everyone feel about this? While I agree we need a strong military to protect our nation cutting our own programs that help fellow Americans doesn't sound right. And we need an agency to protect the Environment.

We need to build back our military. It is essential that we do this more than anything else. As for all the other government entities, we just don't need them. Ever hear of consolidating? They can afford to merge one organization with another and still manage to keep things afloat. Two things can be accomplished here: We reduce our nation's bloated debt and we strengthen our armed forces.

You have it exactly backwards. Both China and Russia have been engaging in a massive military buildup over the last 10-15 years... especially China. Meanwhile our forces have been significantly reduced. We don't even have enough ships or aircraft to satisfy our current operational requirements.

The Chinese and the Russians have become far more brazen and provocative over the last few years and there is a reason for that. Either we have enough force to make them second guess their actions or we watch them run roughshod wherever they want.

And there is more than enough fat in nonmilitary programs and agencies to pay for this buildup.

Who threatens the USA militarily anyway? Canada? Mexico? Trump's buddy Putin? We have the threat of lone wolf terrorists but there is zero chance of a military invasion. The focus should be stopping lone wolfs through online surveillance and that won't cost $54 billion.

we could cut 200 billion from our Military budgets and still out spend every single nation on earth by a wide margin.
Hell we would still be so far ahead that we could cut another 50 billion and build a wall around Trump's ego..

It is really eye opening that Trump's blue collar White supporters are so convinced that there are grave external threats that require more military spending when their communities are being wiped out by heroin, cancer, obesity, under employment due to lack of education, etc. All things that are helped by the very programs they are so hell bent on eliminating. The reality is working class Whites are the most vulnerable group in the USA and the only ethnic group in the 1st world to have a rapidly declining life expectancy.
