WH privately supports earlier rollback of Medicaid expansion: report | TheHill

A senior House conservative aide and two senior administration officials told the news source that the White House, while publicly supporting the House GOP bill, is privately backing a call from conservatives to reverse the expansion before the bill's 2020 phase-out date.

That's not what trump campaigned on, is it? Not being snarky - serious question for those who followed his promises more closely.

Articles with unattributed sources are largely ignorable. Trump held lot's of positions. Which one does one pick?

Hmm. Maybe you like many others, confuse Medicaid with Medicare.

Trump said he wouldn't touch Medicare, not Medicaid.

I know the difference, thank you.

I also know that in his interview with Bill O'Reilly after the election, trump promised insurance for everyone that the government would pay for. If Medicaid is cut, how will the government pay for healthcare for the poor?

It is a pretty sad state of affairs , Trump is openly backing a plan that strips away healthcare insurance from millions, condemns some to a life of poverty or even death.
Yet still his "trumpets" lap up his lies like faithful pets.

I have no recollection of Trump ever promising to leave Medicaid alone. About 30% of the people in w Va rely on Medicaide and they voted for Trump.

Nothing he says means more than it works at the moment. He has no concept of respect for anyone but himself and those who play him so he feels good.

If we are lucky, his first year won't end in a war and LOTS of employment....
