Obviously yes, you can't apply UK logic to America, completely different situations. Unless something has changed and there are 500 million guns in circulation in the UK now?
I don't know why this airman had to hold his wallet when he got out of the car; i certainly don't understand why this cop had to shoot him (can't he see that is a wallet?)
“After careful consideration and review of a video recording of the shooting, viewing the evidence in the light most favorable to Davidson, we conclude that a reasonable officer in Hancock’s position would have feared for his life,” the three-judge panel wrote in the ruling.
yes.
bodycams on all cops WITHOUT an off button the cop can use automatically uploaded to cloud. 95% of the time, its going to nail the perp. 5% of the time its going to nail the cop.
Can just imagine sending unarmed Cops into inner city Hoods unprotected.
Just like in Europe we would see No Go Zones where murders would be even higher than they are now.
But cops, in particular in America shooting or otherwise harming people for absurd reasons is nothing new.
But should cops honestly be allowed to carry guns? You may argue "but they need them to defend themselves!" but isn't a person being shot unjustifiably worse than a police officer getting shot?
When the entire population has been 100% disarmed then I'd seriously consider it.

Some people deserve to be shot.
Most Police are heavily armed in Europe and indeed in most of the world, the exceptions are Great Britain, the Gardaí in Ireland, Norway, Iceland, New Zealand and a few small islands.
London with a population of 8.7 million had 104 murders over the last 12 months and 12 shootings in 2016.

This airman held a wallet in his hands, not a gun!!!
Similar things have happened to me once. I got into a minor car accident and the guy came out of the car holding his wallet. well, duh, he had to give me his driver's license info, no? Should I just shoot him if I carried a gun?
Yes, police officers have every single right to carry a gun and protect themselves. I have no issues with that. I might be the most pro police poster on city-data. But in this case, how can he not see the airman carrying a wallet?!
Poor veteran.
