Nikki Haley was very clear answering that question by "absolutely not, Russia and other countries have to step up and pay their share. The US has carried the burden of contributing the most for way too long".
Matt Lauer was afraid that the US would lose their leadership role.
Perhaps Matt with an income of 10 million per year can start donating 1 million every year as well as his liberal buddies who talk but don't deliver.
If a politician and/ or the President step up for Americans then they are called haters and not being social enough.
So let the left start paying up to pay for illegal alien crimes against Americans who are against illegals aliens being defended to stop deportation of criminal illegal aliens.
Let the left pay for the UN if they feel the US is not paying enough.
Matt, Clooney, Madonna, Judd etc start paying now or shut up!
It does not make financial sense for America to borrow from China to give aid to another country. We should be getting land, assets for any money that is given. No more aid. LOANS ONLY. China does not give away money. They LOAN it out.
"Shouldn't the US pay the most for poor countries to stay the leader in the world"
Wait a minute....we're poor too. We don't even have enough money to run our government. Haven't in years. It's time to stop borrowing money from one country to just give it away to another.
While I don't agree with a total dump of providing aid to other countries for various reasons...doing it to just hold on to some 'leader' of the world status is dumb.
Matt Lauer's question was silly.
But what some of you may not understand....when a journalist asks a question -- it doesn't mean they support that view.....they are sometimes playing devil's advocate or just bringing up a question someone else may raise. But I know that's a hard concept for some of you to understand. You think journalists only ask questions which are in line with their personal thinking.
Which you know - is totally against any kind of real journalistic approach.
For example. When Trump was asked about the wiretapping and he came up with his silly answer about not really meaning wiretapping but meaning wiretapping in a symbolic way of other things.....a good journalist -- whether or not they support the leader -- would have pushed a little further and ask what the heck he was saying -- lol. But Fox News didn't...because they don't want to challenge Trump & perhaps portray him in a bad light.
A good journalist even if they think Adele deserved the Grammys will ask the question -- or raise the issue of racism because Beyonce didn't win anything. Not because they think racism exists but because it is being discussed and is a possible explanation.
But these are difficult concepts -- and I get it. Unless you are really into journalism, hard news & not just into looking for justification for your opinions -- it makes it even harder to understand that journalists/news anchors ask questions that may or may not support their personal views.
I was watching that this morning. The interview was really ridiculous. The question even worse.
