Mulvaney justifies budget: We can't ask a coal miner to pay for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting - POLITICO

“When you start looking at places that we reduce spending, one of the questions we asked was can we really continue to ask a coal miner in West Virginia or a single mom in Detroit to pay for these programs? The answer was no,” Mulvaney said Thursday morning on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “We can ask them to pay for defense, and we will, but we can’t ask them to continue to pay for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.”

And asked about cuts to educational programs, including aid to low-income students, teacher training and after-school and summer programs, Mulvaney said that they, by and large, are ineffective and cannot justify their existence.

What is he saying? How do you pick and choose what people should and shouldn't have to pay for?

They do, indirectly, pay for such things in other ways.

The government should not be subsidizing any media corporation. It can be, and should be, viewer sponsored through donations. If the company makes themselves relevant and valuable to the viewers, and become more resourceful, they will have the support they need.

The federal government gets our money when we earn it , when we spend it , when we get interest on it ,and then squanders it on illegals who come here for the freebies.. people are tired of the sacrifices they have to make to give to others who steal it. Our government has not been a good steward of our money at all..

Take from Americans including our jobs and our money and give it to the world. This is the message of the left and we Trump supporters of sick of it.

When Mulvaney says we can't ask Americans to continue increasing the budget of what is already the most expensive military in the world without auditing the DoD and holding them accountable I'll believe he's serious and credible. Until then? Not so much.

Yet hypocritically have no issue with Ivanka sending American jobs to China, right?

That was Clinton. go to the root.. Clinton killed the clothing industry here and it all went to other countries. There were thousands of factories across America making clothing. They are all gone. The garment district in NYC is gone and has been gone for decades. So get real..

Anyone who sent jobs to China and Mexico are the left.. they want opened borders and give our jobs to other countries ..

Who knows what he's saying.

Why should the single Mom in Detroit be picking up the tab for the coal company so the unemployed semi-skilled miner can make a decent living?

How can he ask me to to pay for bombs dropped in Yemen?

Why should any of us have to pick up the tab for all these useless twits in Congress?
