Seeing two possible ways for healthcare to be reformed, better than obamacare or worse than it

But either way, will people remember it in a positive light?

If the replacement is worse, then people will lament not having obamacare anymore

If it is better, wouldn't people say that obamacare is what started the ball rolling to get the next form of healthcare? If republicans didn't spend 8 years thinking of ways to reform obamacare, would they even have bothered changing healthcare from pre-obamacare?

I think some kind of national health care is needed. Obamacare was a mess but it was the beginning. Hopefully it can be made better but I have my doubts.

I think Obama will be remembered positively for moving the needle on health care. No other president has ever gotten that far and Democrats have paid a very heavy price for it. Republicans did everything they could to cripple it, refused to roll it out in Republican states, etc. and now they are left holding the bag. The Republican party would never have proposed the plan they have five years ago. That being said, there is a lot of amusement in seeing that the ones that screamed the loudest about Obamacare will be the ones that pay the most (and see cost increases) with the GOP plan.

Depending on who you ask. Insurance companies and drug companies are very grateful for the ACA. He's got a $65M book deal to show for.

People who got subsidized heavily are also happy.

But nothing is really free. Someone has to pay for it. Folks who pay more into the pool are not happy for sure.

Obamacare will be remembered positively if the Republicans don't improve Trumpcare as it is being proposed now. And so will Obama, for that matter

It will be remember as a very costly entitlement program. Even then it didn't accomplish much.

It will be remembered as the bigget thing Obama accomplished. The way the Dems rammed and bribed it through with little support.

And more importantly it will reflect on Obama and designed to fail.

I really ate to break it to you.BUT, American insistence on Capitalistic based ( free Market) HC will never ever work. Yep....I know American's will ask why?

1) Having free market ( Capitalistic based) means simply that Insurance companies will only cover basics for those who think it's not so important.. BUT when actually make a claim.. Yikes NOT covered. Cheap costs will end up costing OUT of Pocket $$$$$ they thought they wouldn't ever need ( like those that think they will live forever)

2) Since profit margin for Market place is the end game~~ Risk factors will always be built into the pricing of any plan. This leads to escalating premiums. Those escalating costs will be enabled with reducing regulatory items that was included in ACA

3) Looking after most needing HC is costly, and of course proposal actually initiates ability for STATES to de-fund what most have access to and coverage for... I'm talking about that most actual recipients of benefits were mis-informed and didn't even realize their benefits. HEADS up.. IF GOP get's their wish ( Ryan Wish List).. then guess what. Profits for their lobbyists and Insurance Corporations will increase profits on the backs of those who actually need this coverage the most!

4) Defunding Planned Parenthood on false accusation of providing abortions has been debunked for years.. Laws have been in place for many decades for such Tax Funds enabling that. So punish the poor/middle class who can't afford Cadillac Insurance or let alone preventive care.. Bottomline .. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN! Raising a child whether wanted, planned or by accident costs thousands annually each just to survive. BUT too bad so sad attitude. Past suggestion: Birth Control Women should use ASA pill held between knees.. no need for BC pills. Or better yet.. Women should not have sex ever unless they are trying to get pregnant. Woefully ignorant. But they describe any women who have intercourse as Loose, $lut'$, immoral, while the men get tax funded Pen$l3 enhancer drugs to perform. The list is endless!

5) Government does not run HC in any single payer system.. They only fund the basics and includes certain restrictions for unnecessary treatments, tests, prescriptions, surgeries etc. They all have extended coverages that will cover such things for those who can afford it. Even US Medicare has such restrictions..and there are supplement Parts to purchase if you can afford it.

6) Universal HC simply means ALL are covered regardless of your station in life. Federal sent in your Case a portion, and the State pays the rest. Each State make's regulations for their own State... as depending on location.. some States have higher instances for specific health ramifications. BUT ALL States have catastrophic demographics and must fund such care. Gov't doesn't tell anybody how to diagnose and treat. That's the Doctor and patient decision.. Why do zealot's preach such stupid things to regular citizens. IF that's their mantra.. then hey It's Profit driven Insurance Companies that then decide what coverage/payments your doctor will get.. YOU cannot have it both ways!! Gov. isn't in it to profit..BUT Free Marketeers are!!! Pharma, Insurance Companies and so on!

6) Finally, what ACA tried to do was level playing field. However, under GOP's demands during 1 year + of negotiation, hearings, additions for, additional deregulations of, cutting out of certain coverages, etc etc. Then .. stepped back and Said NO to the whole thing even after they got their Cherry picked amendments added! Then constant preaching for 7 years of mis-information and zero response when called on for tweeks to adjust... Yep.. Repeating negative and mis-informations eventually becomes truth... However, the truths are now getting exposed! Thus such push back by ALL sides.. It's NOT just libs/socialist ideation at all!

Ignorance is bliss until one wakes up to realize they have been rooked and duped!
