Allan J. Lichtman, the American University historian who in September predicted Donald Trump’s electoral victory, draws parallels between Trump and President Richard Nixon.

“Even early in his presidency, Donald Trump exhibits the same tendencies that led Nixon to violate the most basic standards of morality and threaten the foundations of our democracy,” he writes. “They also shared a compulsion to deflect blame, and they were riddled with insecurities. They exploited the resentments of white working class Americans and split the world into enemies and loyalists. . . . Neither man allowed the law, the truth, the free press, or the potential for collateral damage to others to impede their personal agendas. . . . They obsessed over secrecy and thirsted for control without dissent.”

Lichtman compares press secretary Spicer’s M.O. to that of Nixon’s Ron Ziegler (“Deny. Lie. Threaten. And blame the messengers.”) and "believes that Nixonian abuses of power will provoke Trump’s downfall."

Nunes' runaround was as bungled as the Watergate break in.

How long before we'll see Trump assuring us he is not a crook?

RW folks take odd comments and blow them out of proportion or twist the meaning around to make it fit with a persecution complex. Quite odd.
It should be familiar because that is a different version of what the left does. They twist the meaning around to make it fit their agenda (which is to make the right look bad every time, all the time). Except the right takes a fact, not a doctored fact or partial fact and they take one that bears repeating because it is truth.

"Heat of the moment" doesn't excuse it. It wasn't an accident or a slip of the tongue.
It was intentional, preplanned and repetitious.

If you have to ask, "what difference does it make?" you are risking launching us into another major headline. Same subject and same attempt to dismiss.

Washington Post. Of course. As for your question, don't hold your breath.

Will it ever rise to 51%?

I don't think so.

Oh that's rich.

We have two narratives going. One is backed by the intelligence community and the other by Trump, Breitbart, and Fox News.

Guess time will tell which one is a nutball CYA conspiracy theory and which one is backed by evidence.
Once again you nail it.

We have the Fringe right wing trying to protect Trump with trumped up lies. No members of our security forces support their nonsense, No REPUBLICAN members of the house nor senate intelligence committees are supporting their bs...

All the fringe right have is other fringe folk shouting unsupported nonsense and a few wild GOP members trying to gain favor with POTUS making vague generalizations that call people criminals without every saying what they are supposed to have done.
All the fringe right are making a pig's ear of their lies this time around they can't even agree with each other.

It's a "heat of the moment" comment if it only happens one time but something totally different when it's repeated on various news shows over different days like Susan Rice did, nor is it "heat of the moment" when you (Hillary Clinton) say it to the parents of the dead Americans.

Jus thought I'd clear that little thing up with facts...

I guess y'all should just call up the committee investigating and tell them to stop as y'all have all the answers and evidence to back up your charges?

And still y'all go out and try to make hay with facts not in evidence. As has been pointed out before. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE that's been released to support EITHER side as of yet.
Just snippets, suppositions and innuendo that keep being repeated over and over again, but I guess that works for ideologues...

There is no evidence that Trump colluded at this point but the fact that his campaign make contact with the Russians is most certainly documented. It's premature to say that there is "no proof" at this point since the FBI and Senate investigations continue.

There is in fact evidence. Both British and German intelligence have confirmed concrete evidence of Trump colluding with Russia and a quid pro quo arrangement.

But it's still going to take awhile for anything to happen since the FBI is likely building a rock solid case, and Republicans continue to protect him due to their own guilt in the scandal.

Louise Mensch, whose intel community sources on Trump-Russia have been right on the money so far, reports that Carter Page took a recording of Trump offering to make political concessions to Russia in exchange for help with the election.

Page, Manafort, and Boris Epshteyn are on another tape discussing the plan to send Page to Moscow with the tape of Trump.

Intel sources: Donald Trump and three advisers caught on tape committing Russian treason - Palmer Report

If she is receiving and reporting accurate information, we may be getting close to the end game here.

Maybe Melania won't have to pack after all.
