With Obamacare falling apart and the GOP/Senate stalling on offering another plan is Single Payer Healthcare around the corner? California passed a bill this year to enact a single payer plan for every resident. Many other states are following California's lead.

Single-payer health care gains momentum in liberal states -- but can they afford it? | Fox News

Lawmakers in New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Massachusetts proposed single-payer bills this year. Last week, a bill passed the California Senate that would make every resident, legal or not, eligible for coverage – no premium, no copayment, no deductible.

Single payer is not free. Typically single payer premiums are paid same as SS & medicare -as % of income up to a max.... but yes... no copays and no deductibles, and if you have no income then you are still covered.

If my taxes go up less than $350 a month, it's a good deal for me. But it still needs price controls to work.

I hope they do it.

I think it might have the effect of lots of illegals moving from Texas to those states.

Fingers crossed.

We need a national government managed health CARE system without any involvement by the private insurance company rip off and negotiated prices with the providers and the drug companies. We currently pay far too much for too little benefit.

Should everyone who participates either pay the same dollar amount or the same percentage of their paycheck?

I Agree.

The article says single payer would put health insurance companies out of business. Won't hurt my feelings since no insurance company has paid a dime against our healthcare costs in 10 years. High Deductible Plan for 10 years and currently 12,000 deductible for family.

The first one is regressive, which is what we have now, and bleeds the working class. The second one is progressive, and is much more tenable for the population as a whole

I support a different version of single payer health.

States can choose to open market health insurance where individuals can build their own insurance at a low cost. Cost and care that is covered is transparent.

Healthcare Facilities determine cost of service and this insurance pays certain percentages of the bill.

Replace Medicaid with adjustable income insurance. With 3 or 4 selection individuals can choose from. Those living above their State average income based off their household size can buy this health insurance. With that said these individuals have a fee determined by the State added on to their monthly payments for this insurance.

Catastrophic Healthcare via a small flat tax. If need finabvisl assistance for life saving care the Government pays 75% of cost after insurances pay their portion.

Support expansion organizations that can open health savings accounts to the public.

Exice tax on marijuana, alcohol, and cigarettes that funds universal mental health and substance abuse care at public and non profit health facilities. This at the National Level.

Also offer Universal Healthcare for individuals over 65 which they can supplement with private Insurance as well. This at the National Level.

Universal Healthcare for Active Duty service members and immediate family in the Uniformed Services.

50% discount on health insurances for Federal Government employees, Inactive Duty Uniformed Services members, members of National Guard, and Reserves. States can choose if they want to offer discounts for their State workers.

Healthcare Facilities have the right to refuse care to a yo be with out insurance unless an Emergency.

Do away with income tax and replace with VAT tax.
