When the minority is refusing to come to the table and only engages in blatant obstruction, yes. Just win another 10 Senate seats in 2018 and then repeal it. Shouldn't be hard given what the Democrats have to offer these days.
Ya think?
Blatant obstruction seems to have served the Republicans pretty well. That's all they did for 8 years, and were reward for it.
And then they elected a president of their own who is just as controversial and disliked by half the populace as Obama was.
Seems to me that's a pretty good blueprint for success all of a sudden. If the voters got sick of the goose that just left, they are going to get just as sick of the gander they just brought in.
So expect another big swing next time. It's to the good anyway. The Republicans are much better obstructionists than the Democrats, and much worse at governance.
They would just as soon be in a tight minority again, where they can sit back, take it easy, and go back to blockage after the hell they'll put themselves through for the next 4 years with Trump at the lead. The chaos of the ACA failure is just the first act. There will be many that follow.
Don't expect the Democrats to save their goose for them. Won't happen. They're going to be real busy for the next 4 years reorganizing.
As a Democrat I support Medicare for All. Nancy Pelosi wanted Medicare for All. There is nothing wrong with contributing broadly to healthcare coverage. The problem with profit-based health coverage is the cost always has to go up because profits must increase year over year. They must or they are not a profitable business. It's a model that does not work for something like health care. If you do not have car insurance, you can take the bus. There is no alternative for the human body.
That wouldn't address why your healthcare is so expensive and it would exacerbate the problem by increasing demand on a backwards poorly laid out healthcare system. MFA would currently reward all of the bad actors that have cost you all so much already. To make healthcare affordable you need to address the reasons it's unaffordable, inefficient and completely uncompetitive and monopolized.
Amazingly Trump still wanted a vote on the floor in spite of the fact that it was obvious that it would fail, he wanted all those congressmen on record. Eventually Ryan talked him out of this because it would punish those that voted for the replacement, not the Freedom Caucus.
No, it would go on record as a defeat if they voted. Ryan knows how government works. Trump has no idea.

So, it's the Democrat's fault for the Republicans, who have a 40+ majority in the House, for not being able to repeal the ACA?
Why should the Democrats have cooperated with passing a horrible law that does horrible things and was only supported by 17% of the people?
I suggest that instead of blaming others, you use that conservative principle -- taking responsibility.

Sounds like you are using the term "bad actors" to refer to sick people, that's really special
The REAL victory is putting the Dictator and his sheep in their place!
ObamaCare does need to be fixed, but not with something that is worse and goes back to cutting out the poorest Americans (something Republicans are famous for doing).

I would generally agree with that, especially because it doesn't look like they would even be close if they voted. If they thought it would only fail by a handful of votes they might have gone through with the vote, gone hard after those who didn't vote for it and took it from there. However, based off what has been reported about how many were no's, how many were leaning no and how many were still on the fence, it doesn't look like they even cross the 200 # if a vote is held.

No republican voted for the ACA. So why would you expect any democrat to vote for trumpcare when it hurts us. It would especially hurt the poor in red states.
