My whole family*** is both Catholic and Democrats. And even worse, OP, they are Progressive Liberal Democrats!

***With the exception of me. I left organized religion years ago.

Most people in my state are Catholic so I am a minority and most people in my state are Democrats. What state do I live in. Massachusetts. We vote overwhelmingly Democrat but we have a Republican governor who is normal, not a right winger extremist.

Same, but Jewish.

I grew up in the Deep South where even in the 90s and early 2000s, Catholics were exotic. It put me off religion for awhile, but I've renewed my love of faith communities by getting involved in interfaith groups in New England!

Considering that automation is primed to take over 99% of jobs, the continual rise of atheism is actually quite beneficial to the owners of the factors of production. This way, there will be no one left to judge them when they let hundreds of millions of unemployable Americans die off.

Atheists are so smart though. So, so smart.

Liberal Christian here. I don't see how anyone can follow Jesus and be a conservative.

Talk about confused. You're only promoting the idea that religiosity is positively correlated with stupidity. Better to just keep quiet.

Sorry op but, that's a silly question to me, I mean really silly. That's like a no-brainer, of course you can be a Democrat and be religious and a christian. To me, that's like asking are all republicans Christians and save, and nice friendly people. Some of the most religious and spiritual people I know are Democrats, and God fearing people. from the bible, there is no respecter of person with God.

Couldn't rep you again, but you deserve one for this post. I don't get it, either. It seems there are many, many CINOs in this country--Christians in name only.

Yea, its a bit of a stretch nowadays to claim to be a follower of Jesus and his teachings and also be a republican (apart from the abortion issue I guess).

But cognitive dissonance doesn't bother them.

Me neither. Maybe some other form of conservatism, but the brand pushed in the United States is so antithetical to Christianity and Jesus, the two are just not compatible. Republicans are the least Christian-behaving people in the country, yet are the ones who publicly brag about their religion constantly.
