You have NO RIGHTS when you purchase a ticket for the luxury of flying their carrier versus driving your own vehicle. Same goes for a train, commuter van, limo, etc. They can put you out for any reason they decide to use.
Flying isn't a right, so they aren't taking anything away from you.
I just laugh as I cruise at 22,000 feet in my own plane at my own scheduling with no lost luggage, no sitting next to grossly fat people who flow over into your seat, no surly gate agents, no shrieking children, I go when I want where I want while reading about these overpriced cattle cars laughingly called airliners and the drama shows.

Right. The Rich don't have to worry about injustices like the rest of us do.
But I've wondered why United didn't just shuttle those four crew members in a private plane instead of throwing four paying passengers off. They MUST have access to private planes.

Well... They dont. Hope this isnt surprising.
Im driving 20 hours each way with 2 loud impatient kids to avoid taking a flying prison camp.

The two pilots could have ridden in jump seats up front leaving the two flight attendants to be seated.
Chartering an aircraft is very expensive. Easier to inconvenience one of the cattle in the cabin.
If you feel the Gov is not working for you. forget R or D and focus on how to end LOBBYING. how to get the money out of elections. and perhaps single transferable votes.
Lobbying and money are the root of almost every single problem in the USA. From airlines treating you like junk, to paying twice as much to sell a house as almost any other nation. to the price of cable , ISP ,cells, Drugs etc.
Lobbyists write the bills, stuff them into the hands of Dems, Republicans all day every day. BOTH parties are in it.
End lobbying and donations that bind, politicians and you will find we can solve a lot of issues .
Why not end the careers of politicians that care less what the people want?
Anyone involved in the incident reported yesterday with United Airlines should be fired. Including the four United employees who wanted to get seats on that plane because they did have involvement in this case. They knew that in order to get on that plane, other passengers would be kicked off.

Who knows, but I think those four crew members should be fired from their jobs and also investigated for their involvement in this crime that occurred where a 69 year old man was beat up and dragged off a plane, in order to accommodate their desires.
I don't think reorganization is the answer. The culture needs to change.
Employees currently are just mindless robots following orders who can't deal with unexpected circumstances that a pre-determined logistical system has dealt them. The employees need to be empowered to make their own smart decisions to put the customer first, whatever the case/cost to United because at the end of the day, this extra cost is very minimal. This requires United to change their policies to allow flexibility in decision making, not have a rigid system where you need 10 levels of approvals to get a refund or whatever.
Yep, policy change is in order. Employees down the chain are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I hardly doubt they'll get the freedom to draw conclusions on their own, that might be dangerous says United. lol
