your "life's" work was gained through the assistance of the greater community. Whatever you think you did you got mostly from the joint benefit provided by the various levels of gov. Without the gov and the associated costs you would likely be dead or never born.

And frankly you dont get to draw some arbitrary line as to what the gov should or should not support. The population as whole has that right. You could have chosen to have spent your life changing government but mostly likely you instead embraced it, took what you wanted and now do not want to settle your debt.

to me libertarians are the most selfish people on the planet, they take all their lives and refuse to admit they owe everything to the structures of government. You guys say you want it, but really you want a hard right winner takes all state with a massive paramilitary to protect your assets.

Ryand was a disaster for the USA, she convinced generations to be selfish nasty people. Her work has lessened this nation and slowed our progress in every way. But thank god her folk are dying out.

If you believe that, I suggest you emigrate to a place where such nonsense is held in the most esteem: North Korea or Iran -- take your pick!

And I remind you that no nation with both a market-driven economy and a history of 100 years or more of transfer of power between legitimate parties exclusively via free elections and parliamentary democracy has since taken up the sword against another member of the group.

Well we know this don't we?

As head of government administration a POTUS can only affect just that via executive orders. He cannot change or make laws.

Obama did pretty much the same with his "going around Congress" and issuing various EOs and or whatever. It just so happens many of the things BO did were *huge* in terms of how they affected court decisions and certain civil rights. Gays and marriage along with DOMA were the two obvious firsts that come to mind.

Talking Trump's orders are mostly cosmetic

Here's the thing:

He has both houses of congress and the SC. Shouldn't be a need for EOs. He should be able to get legislation cycled through congress in record fashion. For months he bragged about all the big things he'd do immediately.

The question would have to be: why hasn't he passed a single piece of legislation?

Prophetic words indeed.

"He" does not "have" anything.

Need I remind you that it was conservative votes on the SC that gave Obama his "ACA" and ended both DOMA and DADT.

The senate and more so Congress are beholden to their own sorry behinds than anything else. They will stick with a POTUS long as it serves to get them re-elected. If policies prove unpopular enough to get them the boot, and or cause a serious primary challenge, they will drop the POTUS faster than that fat girl left the Citadel school.

About 25 seats in the senate are up for re-election in 2018, along with most of Congress; How much the GOP is able to retain and even expand their majorities in both houses after those elections will tell that tale.

Fact of the matter is GOP in 2017 is no different so far than they were in 2016, 2015, and 2014; a pack of warring tribes who thus far have proven unable to govern effectively. Fact that despite all His Orangeness's threats and bluster the GOP *STILL* cannot pass a bill repealing Obamacare even though as you say they control all three branches of government, is quite telling.

Lol, you really believed the, "you didn't build that" BS that Obama spewed? Hmm...I'm beginning to understand how he conned his way to a second term with his gullible drones.

I get it.

The GOP is not a governing party, regardless of their so-called "control" of all government branches.

Their self-created chaos is amusing.
