I suspect that the Trump Administration will end up doing nothing about the crisis with North Korea. They are afraid to do anything and will just kick the can down the road until it is too late. Four years from now North Korea will have the technology to send a nuke via a transcontinental missile to the American West Coast.
It will be 2021 and we will get a message from North Korea telling us that we have missiles on the launch pad ready to hit South Korea, Toyko, and San Francisco. They now have the technology and nothing to lose. North Korea says, "Send us a trillion dollars or we will send them flying in two days." What do we do?

My liberal friends are flipping out that Trump is leading us to WW3 but I have another idea.
North Korea is a problem in Asia. Kim Jong is a loose cannon that threatens everyone who lives within 1000 miles of him.
I would like to know what was said between the President of China Xi Jinping and Trump a few weeks back. Xi may have asked for the backing of America to put pressure on NK. He probably met with Obama when he was President and asked the same thing but we know how Obama felt about conflicts and red lines in the sand...
With Trump, Xi sees a man of action that will work with China to rid the region of a dangerous character.
I could see Kim Jong holding the world ransom much like Dr Evil in the Austin Powers movies.
Nothing is a regional issue anymore. If North Korea destroys South Korea and Japan, it would scare people so much there would be huge economic shock waves all over the world. Your 401k and pension would be cut by 80%, etc.
