Insurance is a sharing of risks - gambling.
Getting health "insurance" on a pre-existing condition is not gambling - it's a sure thing LOSS for the insurer.

Maybe it's time we stop calling it government mandated health insurance, and simply call it a sucker pool, where the healthy subsidize the unhealthy until it goes broke... or the taxpayers go broke.

You are spot on. People need to be upfront about what they are demanding. They want other people to subsidize their health care. Just be honest about what you want, then we can have an honest discussion about it.

Maybe it's about time we removed the insurance middle man and went with universal healthcare like the rest of the civilized world.

I'm glad the term single payer was not mentioned.

This is why we need single payer.

Lifetime insurance for all people. Then no condition is pre-existing, everyone is covered before they develop problems and the emphasis can shift to preventive care which saves a lot of heartache, suffering and dollars. It works.

Exactly, which is what Obama and dems wanted. That would really solve this issue.

Insurance has a role for catastrophic Illness, govt. has no role and certainly shouldn't be granted a health care monopoly.

And yeah, it's economic suicide to insure folks after they're sick, not unlike taking out car insurance after you've wrecked the car and expecting the damage to be covered.

Thats why we need Medicare-for-all.

Only the most sociopathic crazies support eliminating health care for everyone who was born with a pre-existing condition.

I believe your statement may be redundant?

Medicare is broke/insolvent. Additionally, Govt. involvement is why health care has become prohibitively expensive, it is the villian here And you should think of it while you wring your hands over babies with pre-existing conditions.
