Those darn liberals!
The key words in the quote are "broadcast licenses". Fairness Doctrine would not apply to cable networks, and shows on satellite radio

There needs to be another choice in the poll. Yes - but it should apply to cable & satellite radio networks too.

The ACLU is the only entity that fights for constitutional freedoms.

Name ONE right wing org that does it.
The NRA is one that does. The ACLU fights for left wing causes-OFTEN in conflict with the constitution and bill of rights.

No supporter of Trump but he is a lesser threat to the First than your ilk.

The second biggest problem with the Fairness Doctrine was it indoctrinated the two party system. Basically you got a dose of Democrat Party propaganda to counter Republican Party propaganda and vise versa. Nothing from the Libertarian or Green parties.

As you can see from this thread it is the left which wishes to impose censorship of political speech in this manner. They really want to kill talk radio and Fox News. Voltaire is dead.

Edited to add an opposing opinion.

People are stupid. They cannot be expected to manage their own lives including what they tune into on the radio, the internet or TV.

I used to be heavily against bringing this back. It was discussed a few times back in the early 2000s. However, I think the partisan bias in the media, on both sides, has become so out of hand that we no longer even know what's true and what isn't anymore. I think this is ultimately a great threat to the survival of our nation. Our reality is shaped by the news we consume and when we get our news from only sources that are biased towards our ideologies, we end up living in very different realities. This is why there is such a wide ideological gulf between Trump supporters and everyone else who gets their news from the mainstream media.

Do you think it's time to re-instate the "Fairness Doctrine"?
Of course not. The world is very different than it was in 1987. Three evening news networks, upstart cable news with CNN, some talk radio like Larry King and your local newspaper. It would be easy at that time for one ideology to take over all of that but not now.

And where would the line be drawn on what would be included in this fairness doctrine? Podcasts, blogs, news aggregates? Youtube? Facebook? Individual websites? International based broadcasts?

And how would the government police all of that?

And you believe these news sources are "fake news" just because your opinion differs from their news coverage? Your opinion is simply that: an opinion. And you know what they say about opinions. . . Simply saying something is fake news doesn't mean anything. Show us proof that these news sources are "fake news" (other than repeating the empty Trumpian claim over and over, that is). I'll wait.

You could get that fox guy, watters, to go and interview a hundred people and then only show clips of the ones who couldn't answer the question correctly. That is what he does for a living.
