Trump's loony supporters ignore all the wacky statements he puts out on twitter and elsewhere. For Christ sake he's on record saying, take the 5th and you're hiding something. I agree with him on this.

Did you also disagree with Holder, Lerner, Rice and Hillary's IT guy doing this too?
I believe they can put him in jail for contempt. Maybe even water board him (not really, but it is a good thought and consistent with The Donald's ideology). Maybe after a couple years in the coup, he will change his mind. Of course, by that time, his testimony will be moot as several others will have spilled the beans on him and nobody will care about what he has to say.
Man wants immunity in exchange for his testimony. We already know what he did; the question is who else was with him. When there is a "someone else" there is another source of the same info that Flynn could provide. Sorry senior Flynn; now is the time to talk. Later it will be of no interest and people might just forget that you are in jail.
As the Donald said, if you are innocent, you better start talking. Otherwise you look guilty as hell.
That's good advice to him. Pleading the 5th is not an admission of guilt. It exists to protect people from abuses of power by government. That's a good thing.
However, Flynn has made admissions that will probably put him in jail. And if the information in circulation is to be believed, others could share his fate. But we won't know till the investigations are wrapped up.
Just as the 1st amendment protects you to say what ever the hell you wish, it also protects the right to remain silent.
You cannot punish anyone for not squealing like a pig.
Who taught you to think a US government could.
Take a civics class.
Nevertheless, the outlook still looks bleak for Flynn. Even with a pleading of the 5th, Flynn could still be convicted if found guilty & thus sentenced to prison.
Be mindful that pleading the 5th is only a protection against self incrimination, not an insurance policy against actually being convicted.
Pleading the fifth works for testimony, trying to do it to avoid handing over documents can in fact land you in jail.
