I've been dying to find this out:

Does Robert Mueller, as special counsel to investigate Russian links, have the authority to require Trump's tax returns - and if Trump won't provide them, to get them from the IRS?

It seems to me that would be a great place to start by "following the money."

Why would he ask for tax returns? All they show, at the end of the day, is income, deductions, etc... and taxes paid.

Last year Trump released a 90+ page financial disclosure that is far more informative. It's in The Google.

Several of us have been saying the above for months. I think the disclosure is just too hard for some people to understand.

Mueller can and will request them. Partly to see what's NOT in them...failure to report income, kickbacks and bribes, for starters.

Last time we went there, Rachel Madcow was made to look pretty foolish and petty. Want a repeat?

Only a moron lists bribes on their tax returns. You guys get sillier by the day.

I'm hoping it will show some money going back and forth - although I admit that it's likely that the shadiest dealings were all under the table. But he might have been so greedy that he listed payments to Russia as a deductible business expense.

I hope no one will be so silly as to compare Robert Mueller with Rachel Maddow. And, actually, no, from what I've heard, the financial disclosure actually shows less than returns would.

Actually..... You can (and should) report criminal income to the IRS.
Quote:
"Income from illegal activities, such as money from dealing illegal drugs, must be included in your income on Form 1040, line 21, or on Schedule C or Schedule C-EZ (Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity."
And...The IRS cannot tell anyone about it, it can only be seen if....a court or other agency asks to see your taxes. Why do you do it? To avoid being double charged.

LOL. Wonder if that is why Trump doesn't release them.

And your evidence for these accusations is... ? Or is this just more wishful thinking?

You can lie in a disclosure. And no, I'm not going to take whatever Trump says as truth because he's a liar.

You lie to the IRS, there are consequences.
