Yes. There's nothing better than dying from black lung disease caused by the obliteration of environmental safety regulations and the rollback of the coal miners' health insurance, courtesy of the GOP, right Kitty? But billionaires have to have their tax cuts, so we need to cut corners somewhere. . .
Nobody in 2017 is getting "black lung disease." This is no the 20s.
Read my post. I enjoy going hiking in the mountains, and want my children to also!
Pick a different mountain. This country is full of it. Right now I am minutes away from Sandia mountains and there is not a lump of coal there. We can't cordon off this land because you and your kid want to go hiking. Go to the gym.

Your a sick person, you know that. Many children are getting cancer and many on the areas are dying early, and many miners are dying on the job and you joke it off. Shame on you!

Just to be clear, one source will not be our only source. There will be a agglomeration of sources in the future that will be sustainable and renewable.
Also, Tesla has invested a solar roof and the Powerwall now allows storage of sunlight so homes can be powered at night and during cloudy days. No more will land be required, your very roof could be all whats needed.
Renewable are and will be the future for the sake of our children.
Good for the miners, but what exactly did Cheeto or the GOP do to "create" these handful of mining jobs? Or were the jobs created on their own through supply and demand?
The idiot doesn't seem to understand how the free market works.
So unless Trump personally picks up a pickaxe and starts hacking away at coal deposits it doesn't count. I didn't see Obama assembling many solar panels by hand.
Conservatives don't understand this. We are in a different world now than we were in 1950. We would be better investing in future technologies over trying to prop up old technology that is already being killed off by the free market.
What conservatives don't understand is why we can't generate electricity with coal mined in Pennsylvania and use that electricity to charge the batteries of electric cars made in California.
As for that nonsense about propping up old technologies that are already being killed off by the free market, are you ****ing serious?
"All-electric and plug-in hybrid cars purchased in or after 2010 may be eligible for a federal income tax credit of up to $7,500. The credit amount will vary based on the capacity of the battery used to power the vehicle."

A mine isn't built and gone through the proper channels in a few months. use some common sense.

Hey, so Trump wasn't kidding when he said his wall would be self-financing. May be even you could come around. Listen, I am old enough to remember we were supposed to get gobs of electricity from "endless" ocean waves.Solar on rooftops has had 40 years to happen and still hasn't. Tons of new construction are going up around us and I've yet to see ONE with any solar panels anywhere. When power fails, nobody goes to the home depot and asks for a windmill. They pick up that 8KW Generac and take it home. That would include you.

Well, our gov't. has some control over imports for one. We also have some clean manufacturing options and buildings that can be re-tooled to accommodate various activities. There are ways to aid company expansion and new company creation and our gov't. can subsidize this by many methods, tax incentives and many other ways. There are also creative industrial leaders who would like the opportunity to invest in this effort if it gained momentum. Leadership is needed.
