OK, it's nearly six months. All we hear about is Russia, or the cost of Trumps golf junkets or "he said, she said" with Comey.

Yet NOTHING is getting done beyond some bs Executive orders to pacify the right wing extremists.

Congress STILL hasn't passed or even taken up National Reciprocity. STILL no health care - and I'm 60 and gonna die if that doesn't get fixed, and soon. STILL no border protections of any meaning. Just a lot of religious extremist hatred. Did they even take up a budget yet? Where's the infrastructure? Our roads are coming apart and most interstates need a third lane. We still have all these worthless alphabet agencies.

This guy has about 12 months left to accomplish something and then the election idiocy will start all over again.

Or is the country, democracy and freedom itself just beyond recovery?

Part of the problem is that the houses Republican members.....80% of them have never been in office when they were the leadership group. They went hard core party of no.

And now....they are having to try and make legislature. And when they do...the results have been horrifying. I mean...bad. REALLY bad.

The border wall is a dumb idea, but none of them seem willing to implement something smart like mandatory e-verify. Why? Because a TON of their re-election income comes from people using illegal labor. So while they want to rah rah rah for the wall...actually doing something about it is NOT what they want. They just want to look like it.

Healthcare? The only "better" healthcare plan is something like single payer. Without being willing to do that....the solutions the house came up with were...bad. Healthcare IS hard to get right. The ACA was immensely complicated, and without government support to try and get it right, it was doomed from the start. But actually passing something better? The ACA was a plan from a conservative think tank! It WAS the best idea they had. And it wasnt bad. But the only better choice is single payer.

Infrastructure? Supposedly Trump is going to present a plan. Everyone that has seen it thinks its horrifically bad. IE a real infrastructure plan takes money. And speaking of money....

A budget. LOL. Presidents budgets are worth less then the paper they print them on. Congress ignores them, and does what it wants. Trumps was....spectacularly bad....but not a actual big issue other then to throw rocks at people with here in the forums. The Republican congress has ZERO idea how to do this. And they are trying to do it....while cutting taxes....for the wealthy. Which runs into the problem of....it takes money to run a government. to build walls, increase the military, etc. Cutting taxes isn't going to work. Why? Because the Democrats arent going to help. The Republicans didn't help them, and they've gone insanely hostile. Even telling government agencies to not respond to Democrat queries. Thats nuts. Because the Republicans have a subset that really is serious about stopping deficit spending. So they cant get the votes to pass a budget that does what they want. The only way they could was through bi-partisanship. And they have pretty much pooped on everyone. So should be interesting.

Are we beyond recovery? Nope. But we have to elect people willing to work with others, and that arent hyper partisan. We need people who will put country before party.

Maybe in 2018 when the Republicans lose the house, and probably keep the senate they will figure out that they need to work with the other party, and not just against them.

They can't get far until they dispose of the radical right. You can't even talk reason with those people. They are being brainwashed by somebody, they don't even think for themselves. If the Repubs would wise up and forget about the extreme right wing and get with some of the moderate Democrats they might accomplish something.

Do something with the moderate Dems about illegal immigration--I mean DO SOMETHING. Not a wall but e-verify, discourage them from coming here. Put a good health bill out there, something that will help people, not hurt them and something they can afford to pay for.

Put your house in order because right now it is chaos. You chose people who didn't know anything, now get used to it and make it work if it can work. I challenge them to pass a health care bill that will actually benefit ordinary people and not just the rich. Bet they can't do it.

I heard a rumour they are draining the reflecting pool something about ducks and parasites.

Well what is really going on is they are installing a really big new sand box.

All of the GOP and Trump are planning to stick their heads in the sand the moment Mueller announces he has indictments.

"The Republicans" don't exist.

The corporate ***** wing of the Republican Party exists.

The elements of a hostile take-over of the Republican Party by working Americans exists.

If you are waiting for "the Republicans" to do something, you'll have to wait until the new party, whatever form that takes, emerges from the ashes of the old.

Like the latest incarnation of the Democratic party, the RINO wing of the Republican Party exists for its own purpose.

Funded by the 0.1%, each maintains its own strategy for winning elections while ultimately serving the interests of the 0.1%.

Democrats take money from working Americans to buy the votes of the recipient and aggrieved classes while paying lip service to taxing the wealthy as a way to pay for their vote buying.

RINO Republicans have historically offered whites, and particularly white males, a highly compromised alternative to the anti-white and anti-male Democratic Party.

Tax payers, disproportionately white and disproportionately male, are, due to their income-earning, tax-paying status, ineligible for the vote-buying programs available to largely non-white and largely non-male recipient class members.

Attacking the anti-worker alliance of the recipient, aggrieved and donor classes is a new political movement built from working men and women who pay taxes.

This movement has driven Democrats from public office over the past decade and have now shifted their attention to their enemy within the Republican ranks.

There is no hope for this mess. It will need to be cleared out before there can be a real presidency. This is a big interruption of flow for the WH, the country and the world.

We need to get rid of extremism in govt. It used to be about compromise. I haven't seen that in ten years. Just squabbling while everything falls apart.

And, yet, the same people who voted for trump also voted for the republicans in congress. The same people who voted for all those right wing, tea party loonies voted for him. What part of having to clear them out do you think would really happen? After all, they were voted in. Maybe all of the republican who are obstructing their leader should be voted out in 2018. Yeah, that would work. Shall we see if that happens?

What? it isn't "a real presidency"... but, it must be, he won the election!

True. I think some have so much resistance to what they have been taught to believe would be "wrong for them", that they don't understand that they are just defeating themselves by not supporting those who will actually help them, ones who are for the betterment of the country.

Right, building a wall would just be costly and wouldn't solve problems. There needs to be other ways to resolve it. What about dealing with Mexico directly to help them improve things, so people have reason to be there. I hate to say this, but they procreate quite a bit, which adds to overpopulation (not being the only ones, either), which should be addressed, but likely never will be).

If improvements had not been blocked over the years by the right, we would have seen positive changes develop. There needs to be proper leadership and the stability of, in order for appropriate changes to be ongoing. With what is going on now, it is just an interruption of progress and a complete waste of time for everyone.
